And now, the end is near...
 
Can't believe we're gonna get 2mil for him. He's on 70k a week for 5th choice so it makes sense
 
Good luck Kolo. I didn't think he was all that great, but wish him all the best, a decent lad.

Pity we didn't ask him to do well against West Brom 😉. But I agree - he can reflect with satisfaction on his time at Anfield. I'd add one more thing - he was a good influence on some of our younger players, providing plenty of encouragement as they improved. I'm sure he will be missed.
 
Shame we couldn't have gotten him younger, nice guy. Definitely the right decision to let him go though.
 
As a fourth or fifth central defender he was a very good option to have.
Never complained when dropped but I suppose he was expecting to be back up.
Wish him well he was great craic off the pitch.
 
I like Kolo a lot and wouldn't have minded him around the dressing room at all not to mention he'd be putting the strikers through their paces in training.
 
He did alright for us but since signing him we added Sahko Illori and Lovren to the list competing for CB places. He was a stop gap and now is the time for him to move on, surely between Sahko Lovren Skrtel and Agger (assuming hes not off aswell) we can find the correct balance at the centre of defence?
 
Hate to be the unsentimental kind but his 3-4 silly mistakes cost us the title last year. WBA springs to mind for one. We would have won that game if not for his incompetence.... Harsh but true.

Don't think its true. A few mistakes against Fulham. We won that game.

I'd say Johnson's 23-87 silly mistakes last season cost us the title last year. Or the defensive shortcomings of Gerrard/Skrtel, but those get overlooked.
 
Certainly a character. Getting 2 mil for a free agent on high wages is a good deal + we have lots of central defenders who could step up this season. Haven't seen this on offal tho...

That's just a lazy statement.

In the games he played, he was good more often than he was shit. In fact a couple of big mistakes later in the year that cost him his place in the team overshadowed a great first half of the season where he was very good.

Or Brendan's mishandling of the Chelsea game at Anfield, etc. Any number of things could be said to have contributed, and probably did in some measure. I also reckon Kolo's personality played a part in developing our amazing team spirit on and off the field, which was crucial to our progress.
