I wonder who would be stupid or brave enough to accept the job? Probably look to South America I guess

this was coming.
this club has never recovered from the Roma shellacking, and we made it even worse by giving 'em Coutinho (THANK YOU BARCA, you owed us for Mascher and Suarez you thundercunts) and embarrassing them 4-0.
their stadium is now half empty week after week - they were coming to see Messi, who was the club it seems.
they'll still have their name etc - but if their 3 young studs - Fati, Gabi and the other one - don't develop into a dominant force, they will struggle to dominate EUrope again. As for La Liga, they should always be top 4 material ... though it would be funny - you know, 'more than a club' funny - if they missed out on the CL this year.

Xavi would be mad to take them over in this state. They look miles away from competing at the top level.

On the other hand.. they are at rock bottom. Only relegation would be worse. Build them back with the 3 youngsters and all of a sudden Xavi will be even more of an icon in Catalonia.

Xavi has turned them down previously when they were in less financial turmoil (or maybe he just knew then), interesting to see whether he would now accept them now though...

Yeah, Xavi has apparently been excellent with his Qatar side, and won a bunch of stuff with them. What was Ole's record prior to United? He got Cardiff relegated. Also, in terms of footballing pedigree, Xavi is in a different stratosphere.

You can hear him here - this guy clearly knows football. That doesn't necessarily guarantee managerial success, but I'm pretty certain he'd be significantly better than Ole. Given the state of their finances, it's probably best they re-build through their academy, and Xavi is probably as suited as anyone to help with that sort of re-build. They'd need to give him time though.

Yeah, it sounds like he will be a much better fit in regards to pedigree and culture. He's also loved by the fans.
This from Cazorla describes him as a coach:

Xavi has long been earmarked as a candidate to take over at Barca in the future, part of that golden generation at Camp Nou and all-but guaranteed to bring back the style of football Culés see, whether it proves successful or otherwise.
And Cazorla, who currently works under Xavi, has confirmed that in a glowing verdict of his boss’s style of play.
“He wants the ball and we train based on rondos, possession, position play…pure Barca school, to defend with the ball” said the former Spain star to Marca.
“I think that he understands football that way and he practices it. It’s not unique, but perhaps, in having the ball, Xavi is unique.
“At La Roja, when we were teammates, he always had that philosophy of football. It was very clear.”
That will be music to the ears of those Barca fans who are dreaming of Xavi returning to the club.

Is Xavi a proponent of the tiki-taka type football Barca played under Guardiola?

I'm not sure they have the players to play that kind of football and be successful. They will often have a lot of possession (when I've seen them of late) but have a weak underbelly and a lack of cutting edge.

And in order to rebuild he really should get rid of Pique and Busquets (along with Aguero), which might be difficult for him.

My initial thinking when I saw they sacked Koeman (after the lolz) was maybe they figured they need to get in ahead of ManU to get hold of a quality manager.
It'll be useful to them to get Xavi in though, get right back to basics develop the club back. It'll take a few years for sure but what else are they gonna do? spend money
