Ok ok, just taking the piss.

But overall yesterday, I thought every decision he made was spot on.

The starting line up worked - Milner Henderson and Ox were key in our first half rampage, and as important in the 2nd half when they protected the back-line like their lives depended on it.

He took no chances with Salah and wisely took him off.

He even took off a tiring Firmino and Solanke held his own (and almost set up Mane for a goal late on).

He's got a tough a few days ahead - a derby where Everton will actually play football (unlike the 83% of the time they watched the last game) and a tired squad, and the return fixture with City - who will come at us for 90 minutes in hope of a club defining comeback.

That being said, let's bask in the glory of another classic and hope this man continues to work his magic ...

Klopp was great. Really like it that he has already one eye on the 2nd leg and is fully focused on it.

In the post match he said he is not going to say anything that Pep might use to motivate his players in the second leg, which is spot on. We just get on with it and make the right noises and Citeh would have nothing to work on to get them out of their sinking feeling.

Seriously though, can we quit with praising the team just yet ? Until at least after we've really gone through ?

All these threads will be meaningless if the mancs thump us next week.

We haven't achieved anything yet.

I'm more concerned with Salah's injury status instead.

No.

Let's enjoy it while we can. If we take your advice and we do blow it and go out then we'll be miserable without having enjoyed the euphoria of last night. We have enough misery in our lives, let us take the highs and enjoy them to the fullest !

Oh but we have. We’ve got a 3-0 advantage against the runaway champions in England and one of the best sides in the world.
If you can’t bask in that, there’s something up with you as a football supporter. How could you not be ecstatic.

Apparently we shouldn’t enjoy individual games, nor goals within games for that matter, until seasons end.

I think MBBR is one of those that always think we are going to lose too .. even when at home to Darlington. It's got to be a miserable experience supporting a team when you can't give yourself permission to enjoy the wins and anticipate potential cup triumphs.

Yes, that was very encouraging.

I got your meaning, and fine, it's too early to start crowing. But it's really weird to not enjoy last night's performance and result.

No you don't.

Trust me. I was ecstatic with our result. But I'm also a cautiously optimistic / silent confident kind of person.

100% agree. And he didn't fall for the temptation it must have been to make a defensive sub on Salah. He pushed Ox into that position and kept the pressure up. Better move than I have seen from his substitutions in the past.

In its entirety being cautious and optimistic are opposite positions, as are being silent and confident. To hold four different opposing states of mind at the same time is beyond the realms of bi-polar, perhaps quadra-polar?

Little wonder that nobody understands his meaning, apart from him - he's fucking mental.

Whatever happens next week, we showed multi millions of people watching all around the world that there is a reason we are one of only six clubs able to wear the UEFA badge of honour on their shirts, and the only one in Britain. And that Man Shitty, for all their wealth, have a loooooooooooooong way to go to even be mentioned in the same breath as us on the European stage. So fuck that shit.

What is a "silent/ confident" person?

Ah, right. Hannibal Lecter, psychiatrist, museum curator, fluent in several languages, epicurean bon vivant and possibly the most loquacious fictional serial killer of all time.

If someone in real life introduces himself to you as a "silent, confident person" – turn around and RUN!

It's long been said that everyone is attracted to quiet confidence.

Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud. Like the hundreds of pages for Lucas threads.

Indeed I am still nervous myself and I NEVER tweak the football Gods noses...

That said ... GET IN ... WE ARE FUCKING AWESOME...

The fact that MBBR keeps posting via his home pod, does give the impression he's in a strait jacket
