Is it just me, or do we seem to get almost all our managers over the last couple of decades in hospital at some point?!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been released from hospital following a health scare.

Klopp admitted himself on Wednesday afternoon, having felt unwell following his return from a charity trip to South Africa last week.

The Reds boss missed taking the scheduled training session at Melwood and instead underwent a series of checks in hospital at the advice of club doctors.

And the ECHO understands the 50-year-old has now left the hospital, having been given the all-clear.

Klopp, however, is likely to have follow-up appointments in the coming days.

No detail has been given about the nature of Klopp's issue but Liverpool have been quick to reassure fans the manager's visit to the hospital was a precautionary measure

Klopp is currently scheduled to talk on Friday at his regular media conference ahead of the following day's Premier League clash against Southampton at Anfield.

It isn't the first time Klopp has had a health concern while Reds boss, having undergone an emergency appendicitis operation at a private clinic at Aintree hospital in February 2016.

He missed the 2-2 draw at home with Sunderland.

It left backroom staff Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and Zeljko Buvac in charge in his absence.

During his trip to South Africa, Klopp was in Cape Town for an event at local club Hout Bay United Community, a charitable trust set up for people based around the football club and aimed at uniting all areas of society.

The Reds boss was due to attend the premiere at FACT Picturehouse in Liverpool city centre for the Kenny Dalglish biopic 'Kenny' on Wednesday evening but was forced to withdraw.

I'm hoping it was that horrific indigestion that feels exactly like what you imagine a heart attack would feel like. First time I got that I managed to ring 9-9 & then my mum snatched the phone off me, laughing & saying I was too young to have a heart attack at 14.

It was indigestion.

Good job really, imagine how guilty she'd feel if it it weren't.

Anyway, there's no way the club would want that getting out cos it's fucking embarrassed. I guess we'll know how serious it is based on whether he's taking training as usual & on the bench on Saturday.

I was like that on a plane once. Had my finger on the call button to get the stewardess to ask if there was a doctor on board, when I burped and the pain disappeared

It's fucking horrible. I've had it once since then. I was always thought indigestion was just a very very slight tightening in the chest & a 'food stuck too high' feeling until that day, but proper indigestion makes you clutch your chest & if standing, hit the deck or grab hold of something.

Yeah I had that when I was a kid, demanded a doctor be called to the house. Ranted that it was Thatchers fault that the doctor was taking so fucking long to arrive and that I'd be dead before they arrived. Shortly before he arrived at the house I either farted or burped and was cured instantly.

Fuck Thatcher anyways.

Your not sure if it was a fart or a burp? Did it taste like shit? 😱

He was in the CCU in our place. Tbf he could be out that quickly even with a cardiac event

Nah. Was defo indigestion.

He'll have just finished his third huge German sausage, & then he's grabbed his chest & looked a bit stricken. The medical staff have gone "Ah shite, not another fucking one! Get him the hozzy, quick!"

Then he'll have got in there, burped (or farted, we're not sure yet) & then just laughed riotously & had a few selfies with the staff.

When he got that pain it was more than understandable that he feared the wurst

He could have had angina. First time possibly, arse goes, club panics and sends him to where houllier went.

Or he could have collapsed in a syncope episode, gone to our place for a look over.

Indigestion wouldn't get you in to our CCU.
