Yes, we've heard this all before - about King Kenny being out of the game for so long that there's a big risk he's lost touch with the changes in the game, namely the amount of technology infused into the game.

How do you think King Kenny will cope with Sabermetics, Pro Zone, computer replays and technical analysis, and the sort ?

Will he use them or will he rely on what worked best for him during his successful years which were almost a decade ago and go old school instead ?

Surely his tactics are not going to be as naive and amateurish as Uncle Roy, are they ?

I don't give a shit really, I doubt he does either, the most important thing is that he picks a non-retarded XI each week and employs good tactics with the intent to win games.

I had a dream last night that Kenny asked Rafa to join the club while he's waiting for a new manager role somewhere.
Kenny wanted him to handle 'the computer stuff' and his title was Football Analyst.

The main things are that he is a character that inspires confidence, and he's nobody's fool. I don't believe Ferguson is mental for sabernetics and the like.

Perhaps I'm a nutter but I think this is going to turn out to be the greatest football story ever told.

The biggest worry for me is that he'll do well for six months, and then leave and we'll have a manager on our hands who's shite.

If he does really well there's no way they'd get rid of him.

Why would they do that? It's nonsense. He's on a short-termer in case it doesn't work out.

The way some people talk its as if Kenny has been sitting at home in his armchair for the past 20 years!

He may not have been a manager for a long time but I'm sure, even when he wasn't actually involved, he has taken enough of an interest to know what is going on.

This.

We havent cut him out of ice and thrown him in our management role... People forget he has won something Liverpool havent A FUCKING PREMIER LEAGUE!

Lets assume he's got Sky and the www. at home.

I think it's safe to say he'll have more than a sound enough base to get started.

Further more he's been doing back ground work at the club for the past year, he must have come into contact with some of the high-techery.

That's all by the by though. I don't want a manager who sits around bumming stats and spouting figures and it's fair to say he's not been bought in to do that.

He's here to bring mind, body and soul to this club. Clarke et al can take care of the boring stuff and leave Kenny to getting this side playing football.

Startling images coming out of Melwood:

I doubt Slur Alex sits down every night poring over his Pro-Zone and spreadsheets. Someone does it for him, and serves up nice summaries. It's what your coaching and training staff are there for.

And I think Clarke and Comolli will be pretty well-versed in "technology" so to assume because Kenny's 60 he won't use or be interested in it, and will just rely on good, old-fashioned "gut instinct from the olden days" is bollocks.

Yeah. Well said.

Kenny is smart enough to keep abreast of technological advancement. Age has nothing to do with it. The evolution of management will ensure that every possible competitive edge is used to the advantage of the club.

But the sabermetrics and stats is to identify and judge on new signings? We cant use stats or numbers to dictate how the team will perform. We will never find a manager who will sit down and do that. Then we have to invent a new manager of our own?

As much as i believe in guardiolas formation it is very much down to his material to make it work... the same here... We cant ask i.e. babel to play a hard working left sider in a 442. We need to listen to the material We have, and have å go with what they can offer. The coaches who can actually create their own team and play it to its strenght is very very seldom and includes fergie and nils arne eggen.
