Amir Khan: ‘I’d be a superstar if I was white
[/quote]

Yeah cos those honkys Ali, Foreman, Frasier, Tyson blah de blah.......

And that Joe Calzaghe, all those fights he won, plastered all over the place innit.

I don't like Khan. I think he's a mouthy little cunt who believes his own hype. Any half decent boxer will beat him as we've already seen. Maybe the public would like you more if you weren't an arrogant little twat Amir. Just a thought.

Point of order: Philadelphia, where Joe Frazier, a legend of the game, is from, doesn't have a statue of the champ erected in the city to recognise is greatness.

Oh, but they got one of Rocky fucking Balboa though.

Hmmmm !

I thought they had to take it down?

Well done Khan. And well done Freddie Roach.

Absolutely.

For the record, I've always liked Khan, but I think he will always have a suspect chin. I also think the 'if I was white..' line is nonsense given he's been feted by the public and media alike since the Olympics- he got savaged for his performance against Prescott, and rightly so, and he's frittered away some good feeling with some naughty antics, but he's still been super-hyped. He's got nothing to complain about.

Glad Khan got the win, still think he should wait a while before fighting the likes of Bradley and Marquez at 140. The winner of the Diaz - Malignaggi rematch would be a good test.

Thought Mitchell was great yesterday, stuck to his game-plan and thought the right fight against Prescott. A fight againt Katsidis could be next up for him now.

He's contradicted that "If I was white" rubbish himself today by saying he'd have to fight in the States to become a big star. Difference is, this time he's right.

He didn't say 'I'm not a star cos I'm brown', and also went on to say most people receive him really well, he just said there was some groups of people who give him stick cos he's brown, and he's right, you only have to watch a fight on JustinTV and see some of the comments posted to see that.

In terms of how much of a star he is, I think being Asian has actually helped him, especially earlier on, it made it different from other fighters, and he had the Brit Asian market behind him big time. Look at someone like DeGale comparatively, he's getting nowhere near as much attention as Khan did.

Anyway, I don't get the Khan hating, especially if arrogance is the main reasoning for it, as I don't think he is particularly, like any boxer he talks himself up.

Roach is hoping that Khan will fight again in March on the Manny v Floyd undercard..maybe against Marquez exciting times ahead..

khan spanked him good and proper.

I would like to see him fight a known fighter who has some ring experience and can bang a bit. Just to see if he can take any sort of punch.

Someone like judah, maidina, holt, bradley.

I reckon when (yeah, I said when) Floyd beats Manny Roach will try to gear Khan up as Floyd's next opponent, which I hope never happens. I just can't see Khan cutting against some of these guys.

Marquez looks far too big for Khan

Yeah they are talking about Zab Judah, I think Khan will fair up better against in than Marquez.

or even malinaggi - he can't punch but is still a decent pro who has some decent ring craft and experience and would be a good stepping stone to the likes of judah and marquez.

I like Malignaggi, he's not as bad as he was in the Hatton fight, he's since fought (and lost, although the general feeling was that he was robbed) and is now able to use two hands again.

But Khan can and would beat him.

He would indeed beat him and would, as I said be a nice step up in class.

It would also be a good way to stage a fight in the US without too much danger to Amir - he shuold knock him out in about 4-6 rounds.

I'm glad I didn't fork out £15 for the pay-per-view coverage!

One of the few good decisions I have made lately. ;D

Malignaggi won over the weekend in his rematch with Diaz, so his name could be in the mix now.

Yes! He did.

I feel sorry for Malignaggi, he doesn't deserve the three career defeats on his record. The Cotto one, he fought his heart out, no one really deserved to lose that fight, Hatton one was a joke as he could only use one hand and the Diaz one he was just balantly robbed.

I don't want Malignaggi and Khan to fight, I like them both.

Give me a break, he fought with one hand beyond the first round.

I think it's just more that I think he's a better figher than someone who has three defeats.
