I also cried on the way back to the car from Wembley after the 1977 cup final. My Dad told me 'You can't win every game son.' and bought me my first ever bottle of Coca-Cola. We got picked up by some very sympathetic Man Utd fans and dropped at the car. I can't remember Keegan on the pitch at all that day, but do remember Case's goal clearly. I'd never seen anything like it.
My old man then disappeared to Rome and he didn't arrive home for what felt like a week.
Comparing KK to Dirk (as much as I loved Dirk) is pretty disingenuous in my opinion.

I was being flippant about the comparison!

The funny thing about the Charity Shield bust-up was that it was actually Johnny Giles who fouled Kevin but when he spun around he saw Bremner, assumed it was him, and punched him! My god they were a dirty side.

They were one of those sides that didn't just have one or two dirty players, but 11 of them. The Man City side of the same era were the same. They even had a dirty winger, Mike Summerbee. 🙂

Yeah but Bremner had punched off the ball not long before!!!

Very much so, but I reckon it may have cost them in the end. They could really play, and could have won more if they'd concentrated on that.
