Kenny Huang leading serious bid for LFC

I've a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad feeling. Not about Broughton, but that those yanks will manage to cling to the club impoverishing it in the process. I wonder if Torres's statement today was a deliberate attempt to close the door to the yanks selling their most salable asset as a means of paying off debt?

Given everything that's gone on, I tend to have a bad feeling no matter what gets reported.

I'll believe in the good times if and when they return.

I've always wondered this, is it some sort of unwritten law that if your an insider and "in the know" that you can't use paragraphs and proper sentence construction?

"Two things, though. 1) I've spent the last 24 hours trying to re-establish from those who know him, and his team, what sort of an owner Ken Huang would be. Again, the people I trust most have re-iterated that nobody who does business on an international scale is a perfect fit for Liverpool F.C. We're talking Money Men, here. But they're convinced that Huang is a decent man, understands what's special about LFC, reveres our legend as much as our potential and is as good as it's ever going to get in modern football terms"

What the fuck is this divvy on about?

Its difficult to know how H&G think of course but you would have thought they are keen to get rid too. It can't have been much fun for them. They will insist on making some kind of profit of course but it is difficult to see how clinging onto the club will lead to a better result for them in the future.

I am naturally suspicious of the motives of any potential investor in the club now, and I also refuse to get my hopes up about any deal until it is actually done but I do hope that this goes through as the situation clearly cannot go on with the current owners in place.

Whether the new ones (whoever they are) will be any better remains to be seen but we know that H&G being in charge is just causing chaos so its worth a risk just to get rid of them.

Pardon me.

But, what does he mean when he says "re-establish"?

Why would some one spend 24 hours on "re-establishing" what kind of guy this chinese bloke is? Isn't 'establishing' it once enough?

And who is he "re-establishing" it for?

Apart from someone with poor short-term memory?

I think the reason why it looks like the fanciful ravings of a semi-literate oaf who knows FUCK ALL, is because it is exactly that.

Lol. He even admits that the people in the know "re-iterated" what a gun Ken Huang is.

Thank God this forum does not have dimwits like that.

Asians adopt a Christian name. Especially the ones in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Clearly not a fit and proper person to take over a football club

The latest from Bamba. I'm going to convince myself he's legit.....

Very briefly - who I am and how I know is next to irrelevant here. I'm certainly not any ego trip. In my several years as a member of the revered community that is RAWK, I've very rarely posted. My first efforts where to try and persuade you lot that Michael Shields was innocent. Another was to let you know that SOS were due to meet with George Gillet the following day...my how you pelted me with rotten vegetables for that one! Bottom line is I'm trying trying to pass on what I know and what I'm given to believe by more than one person who has a unique insight into what is currently go on. Believe if you will, but make full use of your right to swerve, too.

What I said before about the board meeting is kosher. The likes of ourselves can never really KNOW who voted yay or nay, but from reliable briefings from genuinely clued-up people - people who would know - I think the majority on here would be surprised at the level of support the Huang bid is getting, and the lack of self-interest from board members who routinely get hammered on the forums. This is why it can't be understated how important Broughton's role is in the process, and how he critical it is that he is scrutinised over the coming days. We all have to hope he'll prize his reputation and oversee this bid with dignity and fairness.

Where we're at right now is Huang's group is doing everything above board. If I had to guess how it'll play, I'd say they'll come to an agreement with G&H - much as it'd gall us all to see either of them walk away with a profit -simply to get this done, draw a line and move on. That's just an educated guess though. What I do know is that if it has to get dirty, the Huang side has a rocket up their sleeve that will jettison George for good. If he knows good for him, he'll face the music, get this done and do one. Amen.

In the meantime, and on the assumption that everything I'm saying to you lovely people is read more widely than we'd prefer, myself and DVC truly are limited with what we can reveal. Just...be patient. We're all on the same side - hoping and praying that this is the begininning of the end for the cowboys.

I have read that twice.

What is the inside information he is giving us?

Purslow (I presume he is the board member who is being crucified on their forum) is an unselfish guy? Purslow is not evil? But why does that make Broughton's role crucial? Would it be any different if Purslow was actually a selfish bastard?

Ohmygosh questions!!!

Saw this on another site, a quote released when Hicks Jnr resigned.....

"Three new directors have been elected to the Boards of both companies. These are Philip Nash, LFC Chief Financial Officer, Ian Ayre, LFC Commercial Director and Casey Coffman, Executive Vice President of Hicks Holdings."

So with Hicks Snr, Gillett, Purslow and Broughton that makes 7 members of the Board.

Anyone expecting a vote of 4-3 in our favour?

According to the Guardian, Broughton and a bidder has contacted the Premier League regarding a possible change of ownership. The rules of the Premier League says that this has to be done 10 days a head of the potential take over.

Backs up what Jon has heard.

The board consists of Ayre, Nash, Purslow, Gillett, Hicks and Broughton, but I don't think Nash has a vote. 5 to vote, and Broughton has the casting vote.

Thats at least what I can remember from a Tony Barrett story. So, 3-2 in our favour I reckon (and hope).

It's not that simple.

The Board can't sell shares that belong to Hicks and Gillett. They simply pick the preferred bid and the shareholders give a yes or no vote to the proposed deal.

So even if it was the case that Gillett and Hicks were outvoted on a deal, they don't necessarily have to accept the sale. Although depending on what leverage RBS currently have it might be accept the sale or go into administration.

We'll see ...

Cheers Ross. I think Broughton has said though that ultimately H&G doesn't have the final say, as the power has shifted since they haven't been able to repay the debt to RBS.

Broughton: "Both George Gillett and Tom Hicks remain on the board and they have given commitments that the board of Kop Holdings (Liverpool's UK parent company) is the party that is responsible for the sale."

Doesn't this mean that the board of Kop Holdings decide and that's that?

Technically no. There are two steps to it, Board picks preferred bidder, Shareholders decide whether to sell or not.

But the likelihood is given the situation with RBS it is the way this thing will run. However I personally think there's not much chance of Hicks and Gillett being railroaded into a deal that's not for the highest price.
