Kenny: There's no better owner
LFC tv

Kenny Dalglish has paid tribute to Liverpool's owners for enabling him to bring top class players to Anfield this summer.

Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Alexander Doni were all paraded at a Melwood press conference yesterday afternoon - and Dalglish was quick to highlight the boardroom backing he has received as he shapes his squad for the new campaign.

"John cares passionately about the football club and he wants it to go in the right direction," Dalglish said.

"Anyone who has got any affinity for the football club will want that too.

"He is just a good lad. I'm not going to sit here and tell you what he does or how he helps. But he is genuinely a good fella.

"We've acted responsibly in the transfer market and we've also acted responsibly and respectfully with the owners, who have been fantastically supportive financially during the window.

"Certainly spending money does not guarantee you success. But I don't know of any football club that has ever had success that has not spent money. So it is necessary. But it's even more important to spend it wisely.

"If there is a better owner as supportive as John then they have done very well for themselves."

Thank fuck we signed Suarez. If it were not for him, I really would fear we'd finish around 6th or 7th again.

It certainly is refreshing to see the people at the top of the club getting on well with each other... even if we did buy rather beige players.

Any team aiming to break into the top four (or back into it, in our case) is going to have to get its players to push on and improve from where they are, or they'd presumably be already playing for one or other of those top four teams. I think Kenny and his coaches can achieve that with the squad we now have.
