Keita injury

He has shown flashes of midfield brilliance especially in the attacking front but has not provided the "Alonso against Norwich or Spurs" elite level dominating display yet. I was hoping for that given the hype, his obvious talent, and the extent we went to get him over here.

Never truly understood the anti Hendo brigade but opinions are opinions eh...

I think it was on an excellent twitter post a couple of days ago... it involved Tron and mocking United.... below it in the twitter thread they had a clip of Hendos goal against Chelsea away the season before last....

While watching it I found myself thinking it was actually even better than Studges.... shame he very rarely scores eh... that one was a fucking belter

Yeah not only does he never score he hardly even shoots. He is often in a favourable position only to pass it backwards or sideways!

Keita's best play suggests he's exactly what we need, that's why there's hope that he'll settle in.

The rest of them are a known quantity, and have shown themselves to be solid but insufficient if we want to win things.

Henderson made an overlapping run on the right yesterday, and was in a threatening area, and passed it back from there.

Heh, this response pretty much sums up the original point:

Check Fabinho’s numbers...we’ve conceded losing goals twice in the 30 (?) odd minutes he’s played in the last week....should we draw conclusions from that too?

We're playing shite as a team really, despite the great points start to the season. No one in the team bar two or three have started well.

The midfield is crap though with Gini, Henderson and Milner. We need some spark in there, from anyone of Keita, Shaqiri or AOC (when back).

I thought Naby was v good in the Palace game. I have faith but it would have been nice for him to really hit the ground running.

In a paper this morning:

It is not the first time that Keïta, who had started the game feeling unwell on his recall to the team, has been taken to hospital while at a match. In March last year, he collapsed and lost consciousness an hour after RB Leipzig’s 1-0 defeat by Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga owing to an acute stress reaction.

Keïta was taken to hospital for tests after the circulatory problem. He was kept in overnight as a precaution on that occasion as well.

Must have passed me by, that incident. I hope he settles down soon. All the hype hasn't helped.

One can see how that might affect a player of Keita's age in particular - easy as it is to forget the fact, he's still pretty young. The way it occasionally seems to translate into concrete physical symptoms is new in my experience though. We'll need to keep a weather eye open for that.

Stress is a bastard ( and yes JJ it does translate into physical symptoms) and I'm sure that professional footballers are not immune from it.

If I get really stressed, it gives me a dodgy stomach. As in, "I'd give that ten minutes before you go in there" dodgy stomach.

BREAKING: Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Naby Keita suffered a back spasm during @LFC's game against Napoli but he could be available to play @ManCity on Sunday. #SSN
