Right, Claudio Ranieri was the coach of Juve, then they sacked him and got ex-player, Ciro Ferrara, in as replacement.

Juve's form has been poor of late and Ferrara has been under pressure etc...

Ranieri is the Roma coach and they are in third place, behind Inter and AC.

Juve are 5th.

Nothing much happens in the first half (boring).

Second half, Del Piero puts Juve up 1-0 with a great volley inside the area.

Roma equalise from the penalty spot (Totti) after Grosso fouls Taddei.

Aaaanyway....with about 10 minutes left, Riise is put clean through on goal. Buffon races out and up-ends him.

Straight red, Del Piero sacrificed, Maninga on.

2 minutes into injury time, John Arne Riise scores the winner with a great header back across the goal from a Pizarro cross.

Roma win, Juve feel bad, tremendous stuff.

Can't wait for the Milan Derby tomorrow !

The show starts at 7pm and the kick-off probably won't be much after that.

Re: Juve v Roma Oh, The DRAMA !

nice to see Johnny Rockets doing well there ... Despite a rather sad end to his career with us, he was a crucial part of some great teams. I would rather he was our starting LB tbh over what we have currently.

*nods*

Momo was decent as well actually, some really good touches.

Re: Juve v Roma Oh, The DRAMA !

Yes, the replacement of Riise with Dossena was absolutely disastrous.

No point talking about Riise, Wiz...that will just draw out the usual idiots banging on about him being crap...forgetting the absolute shit smears we've had at LB/LW since then.

(I dont include Aurelio there as he's decent, but you have to be playing to be decent)

The Milan derby will be boring as hell, they usually are.

He was the reason we got knocked out of the CL the season before he left.

JAR wasn't very good.

He's a good player when he's playing, but he's never playing.

I suppose that would have made more sense. 🙂

Doesn't make Riise less useless.

Did Momo suddenly become a good player for us because his replacement, Lucas is shit?

I suppose that depends on whether you'd rather have Lucas instead of Momo.

Which was kind of what I was insinuating.

It would also be quite difficult for him to 'suddenly become a good player for us' after he's been 'replaced' by Lucas.

Unless of course you're talking about how well he's doing at Juventus.

Which just makes your point...you know what, forget it.
I don't think so.

The first meeting this season was a 4-0 battering by Inter.

Since then, AC have hit some good form and will close the gap to three points with a game in hand.

Momo was quite good last night. Shame he can't pass though. Well thats not entirely true, he did have some excellent passes. But then gave the ball away cheepisly, sounds familiar..

I feel I have to go back on something I've said a few times.

Ronaldinho: He isn't done..*shame faced*

This is a great chance for Milan to get one over Inter.

Inter without Eto'o is big loss.

I'm leaning towards Milan in this one - and if that happens, well Mourinho's record of never losing at home is gooooooone.

Should be a cracker.

Believe it or not, you can judge a player on on his own merit. I'll humor you this time though, say Rafa sold Dossena to Napoli in the summer and he managed to replace him with an even worse player.

You would in probability, then be saying how well Dossena did in his time with us.

Absoute drivel.

One was an integral part of our best defence in recent years, would run through walls for this club and put in years of loyal service.

One is a fat, useless non-footballing cunt, who Rafa didn't fancy after 2 weeks.

Anyone with a brain would yearn for Riise to come back after the car-crash transfer which was Dossena.

That's beside the point, the fact that Riise's replacement is a woeful player, didn't suddenly make him a top player for us.

Riise wasn't very good, and it was the right time to sell him.

Yeah, the general feeling on these boards was that the time was right to move him on.

I seen the highlights of the Juve v Roma game yesterday, what a finish from Del Piero. There was only one place he could have put it to beat the keeper and he nailed it. Does anyone remember te disallowed header he scored against us in the first half at Anfield in 2005? It was one of the best goals I've ever seen.

And that doesn't mean he deserves to be slated as "useless" on these boards.

Liverpool fans are fucking shit at times.

If we got a player who was better than him, yes.

We somehow managed to sell Riise for 3 million but bought Dossena for 7 million; or if you likepaid twice as much for half as good (and that's being generous).

Do you actually have a point?

Riise needed replacing then, cos in his last two seasons for us, he was the weakest point in our then superb defence. He was the reason we got knocked out of the CL.

It was down to Benitez and his team of scouts to find a replacement for Riise. They failed. That doesn't make people who thought that Riise needed replacing "idiots".

I don't think you're an idiot for wanting to replace him, I think you're an idiot for your lack of respect to a player who had a very good Liverpool career and played a big role in bringing plenty of silverware to this club.
