What are my expectations of Klopp?

I hope he has studied the team and already knows who he wants and where they should play. I sincerely hope that he isn't afraid to make big decisions, like for instance selling a recent acquisition.
We have a decent squad, might not be among the best in the league, but if we've learned anything from experience it's that you don't necessarily need the best players to win something.

Get the formation right, play the players in their right position, coach them. For instance, Moreno has an abundance of talent and energy, so does Can, but they play with instinct more than intelligence. He should be able to identify that, give them the right directions and coach them into becoming better players. Just like he did with Hummels and Reus.

Lucas knows his job, Milner does too, Sturridge, Skrtel, Clyne, Coutinho they don't need any help.
That's were Brendan failed imo, he failed to integrate many of the new players into the team.

He failed because he can't set up a defence.

What about Lallana?

Here is my top three wishlist for the new manager:
1. Completely and irrevocably bin Lucas
2. Start an immediate manhunt for a better keeper than Ming.
3. Bin the idea of playing Can in defense.

I really don't buy into the idea the fans are impatient and demand success. Rodgers was taking this squad nowhere and was fully out of ideas. He had enough time to instill his philosophy and ideas at the club. It's just a shame he forgot to include defending.

Is mark in a mood?

Mark is asleep now.

Or making more children.

I like Mark.

I think he's just having a midlife crisis and projecting his existential nightmare onto the forum.

His defense of Rodgers is a proxy for defending himself against everyone's accusation that he [blankety blank blankety blank, blankety blank blankety blank, blankety blank...... blankety blank]

Ok. What's your answer Skully, then I'll check what our panel says.

Panel: Peter Hague, Lorraine Chase, Modo, Bernie Winters, red something ( the guy yiz all hate), and another Lorraine Chase.

I basically agree but I think his existential crisis has produced a deep longing for permanence. A longing he now seeks to satisfy in Brendan Rodgers managerial career.

Right, I've done a bit of searching to get the juices flowing. I've consolidated stuff Binny has posted about Klopp into one mega post for ye to read at your leisure.

Stats from his last season in charge at Dortmund.
-They won the DFL Super Cup, are in the finals of the DFB Cup, got into last 16 of CL (won the group ahead of Arsenal) and qualified for Europa League despite being in relegation zone during winter break (finished 7th, 2 pts off 6th and 3 pts off 5th).
- (As of winter break) Dortmund have the most errors leading to goals in the Bundesliga (9)
- 3 of the 5 Bundesliga goals 2014-15 that were scored in the 1st minute of games were conceded by Borussia Dortmund.
- Only Dortmund conceded already 9 goals in the first 5 minutes of the first and second halves of the current Bundesliga season.

Injury list for final season. (Not sure what's going on here).

A large portion of Dortmund’s success was built upon having a very well-functioning defensive unit (Marcel Schmelzer, Mats Hummels, Neven Subotić and Łukasz Piszczek making up the back four), players who understand the whole style perfectly, but injuries have drastically limited the amount of playing time that those four have been able to have together on the pitch.

In BVB’s 20 Bundesliga games so far, they’ve only been able to put out that back four on three separate occasions; 15% of them, the first of which coming at the start of December. Add first-choice goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller into the equation and it drops to a sole match – their most recent one.

Such irregularity leads to them not only having to use lower quality players, but also a lack of cohesion and understanding between them, ultimately resulting in defensive mistakes becoming far too common practice. Roman Weidenfeller’s form has been a big concern too, even leading to him being dropped for a short period of time in December.

Jurgen Klopp set to seal Liverpool manager deal this week, sources say

Liverpool plan to hire former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp by the end of the week, sources confirmed to ESPN FC.
Klopp, who left Borussia Dortmund in May to take a break from football, is the Reds' first choice to replace Brendan Rodgers, sources have said.
Multiple media reports on Monday night said Klopp is interested in leading Liverpool, with only compensation negotiations still to come, and sources confirmed to ESPN FC that the club expects the 48-year-old to sign a three-year contract as early as Friday.
The BBC reported that talks with Klopp's representatives are "progressing well," while the Telegraph said remaining negotiations are a formality.
According to the Guardian, Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon is leading the negotiations for Liverpool and is "increasingly confident" Klopp will sign on quickly.

Klopp took over a mid-table Dortmund side in 2008 and led them to two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final during his seven years with the club.
Rodgers was sacked on Sunday, with Liverpool lying 10th in the Premier League after a 1-1 draw with neighbours Everton at Goodison Park.
Hiring Klopp by Friday would allow him a week to prepare for Liverpool's next match, away to Tottenham on Oct. 17.
Ian Ayre, the Reds' chief executive, is working closely with American owners Fenway Sports Group to get a top-class manager in place quickly.

Jurgen Klopp is currently available after leaving Borussia Dortmund in May.
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen said he believes a hungry Klopp would "be the best fit" to replace Rodgers at the Anfield helm.
"If indeed these are the two main men [Ancelotti and Klopp], I would think that Klopp is the better fit for Liverpool at this time," Owen told Sportlobster. "I think that a younger and potentially hungrier manager in Jurgen Klopp would be the best fit for Liverpool in their current predicament."
Former defender Mark Lawrenson also backed Klopp to take the reigns as he wrote in his BBC Sport column: "Whoever it is will have to buy into the mindset of the American owners -- they want success, but their model is to try to get that by signing younger players they can train up and, sometimes, sell on.
"Jurgen Klopp is the favourite to get the job and he would fit the bill. At Borussia Dortmund he built a team that were in your face, with good players that he was making better, but he also knew he would have to sell one or even two every year."
ESPN FC correspondent Mike Whalley contributed to this report.

*rolls eyes*

Get a grip of yourself.. ffs..
Its because you bang on about the same things and are disrespectful. The man is gone and he tried his best. He has been respectful too. Why are you still calling him a cunt? But, I'm so glad he's gone.

Lucas for all his flaws is the best we got for a DM. The defence is far stronger with lucas in than out.
