Get well soon. It just shows how everyone can be affected by this.

The brain tumour might help explain some of his actions, too...

I've mentioned on here before that one of my best mates since the age of 10, just six months younger than me, was diagnosed with a brain tumour three years ago.

Had two operations since. Three months ago he finally had his driving license returned to him & last month had the news that for the time since that horrible night he almost died in his wife's arms at 3am he has zero tumour on the scans.

To say it's a long harrowing road is an understatement.

Because of where the tumour was, following the operations he had to relearn some aspects of his reading & writing.

Most remarkable is how amazing the brain is. His brain scans show that when he reads or writes now his brain uses different areas to do it. It's literally remapped itself.

His recovery time was estimated to be nine to twelve months. He was back at work within six months the first time & four months the second time.

He now runs marathons on a regular basis for brain tumour charities & during his time recovering has successfully lobbied against & changed merseytravels policy which was not to give free public travel to brain tumour sufferers who had given up their driving licence voluntarily (that's the brain tumour charity advice cos its easier to get back after doctors give the all clear).

This is a man with two young kids who was already jogging regularly & playing footy twice a week. It seemingly came from nowhere with no warning whatsoever.

A lot more research is needed into this & if anything good can come of this then hopefully Enrique's high profile can help.

Amazing fox. People go on about implementing AI systems ... all i can say is good luck to the human race in trying to replicate the working wonders of the human brain.

My dad died from a brain tumour so I know all too well what a bastard of a illness this is.

Hope his treatment is successful, always had a soft spot for the mad fucker.

Had some great assists with Suarez in his time here.

Oh, it is in some ways in the political sphere, but the humour is defo on the rough side and IMHO all the better for it. Hal's a good guy and so are those who've commented, so let's chalk this up to experience, yeah?

My best pal at college died of a brain tumour about a decade later with his son, my godson, about to start school. The funeral was on my birthday too, so all in all it's an illness I have my own thoughts about. Thoughts and prayers for Enrique and those close to him.
