Johnson signs for...

Liverpool FC confirmed this evening that they had reached an agreement with Portsmouth Football Club and with Glen Johnson for the transfer of the player to Anfield.

A big risk from Benitez, I do hope we've got other funds remaining to buy a decent LW

However I'm delighted we've signed him up. I've been a fan of Johnson for the last 2 years and was recommending him last summer when the reports suggesting Arbeloa was unhappy on Merseyside reports were circulating, and now I'm delighted he's arrived.

Good luck, Glen.

I think that he'll be a good signing for us... Very decent player, and better suited to the big time now than when he first "made it".

Best of luck Glenn.

£18M and £80K a week if the reports so far are to be believed.

80k a week is fucking rediculous, but i'm glad we got him. nice to have a quality english addition. would have had a similar feeling if barry had signed.

Again, whilst I realise that he's all but ours... we've not actually signed him have we? We had also "reached an agreement" with Lee Bowyer.

Had we? I thought he was still bargaining for more cash when Houllier booted him out?

I think Phil Thompson (I could be wrong though) said it was all in place then we told him to come to Switzerland for pre-season training and he said he couldn't find his passport (he was on the piss with Rio Ferdinand) so we fucked him off for his casual manner.

Wouldn't 80 grand a week see him being paid more than Fernando..?

Good news. Decent player but 18mill is fucking silly money for him.

Lets hope the 7mill they owe us and a couple of player sales cover this.
