there's a rumour going around that the mood england camp was sour due John Terry's shenanigans. Apparantly he was furious with Capello because capello would not strip SG of captaincy for his supposed indescretion with a female aquintance.

Mark Skudder on SSN today was talking today about how the reality of a generally disharmonious mood in the England camp were slow coming to light.
Apparently at one stage Beckham had to step in between a row between (his words) the Terry camp and the Gerrard camp

After the Algeria game Terry did try state a coup d'état. He was very bitter and caused real disharmony in the camp.
Someone mentioned how Terry tried to get them all together after a game for a team huddle or whatever, which Stevie ignored. Someone needs to point out to Terry that he isn't captain anymore.
So reading between the lines, we're not signing Joe Cole then.
Terry shouldn't play for England again.

I mentioned it, and the player who I saw ignoring it was actually Lampard. I looked for Stevie but the pitch was in the usual after-game chaos (it was the game against Slovenia) so I couldn't see whether he was in the huddle or not.

Tough one to call IMO. King was said to be fit by the time we played the Jairmens, and Dawson had an excellent season for Tottenham, so there was a case for either of them. Personally I'd have played both, given Terry's behaviour and the fact that Upson is not good enough.
