I prefer Kelly as the long term right back option. I know he's a centre back by preference, but to be honest, he's a really good right back. I think he'll be better there than in the centre. Great debut by Flanagan, maybe he can make the step up to being a squad player.

excellent debut...

a few nice little turns with some very composed passing.

Dalglish is the perfect manager to bring youth through. The way he has handled the young lads so far has been superb.

to be fair he's had little choice unless you count cuntchesky and poulsen as a 'choice'.

But have you seen Kelly play at CB? I reckon he will be Carra's successor

Kelly's done well as a right back, but he looks like a CB playing RB. He reminds me of Emlyn Hughes, we should be looking to blood him there.

First Messi, now Flanagan.

Well done Rodolfo Borrleoloeoe (whatever)

Kelly has pace, but galloping up and down that touchline is going to bring more injuries. If Kelly can prove his worth at CB then that's the future.

So after having only Carra as a stand in RB, we suddenly have Kelly who has made the position his own and Flanagan whose debut is encouraging to say the least. Let's not forget Magic!

Will he start against Arsenal?
[/quote]

With Agger, Kelly and Magic out, there's every chance that he will. I dont think that Kenny has any other options and the Greek will get raped for pace against the Gooners so more likely than not.

I think it's very important that he starts. Flanagan needs to experience the hostility and pressure of away games as well. Most of all it's important that he feels that Kenny acknowledged his contribution yesterday by awarding him another start.

Just hit me that if Aurelio breaks down, which is very plausible, we'll have this back line against Arsenal.

Flanagan Carra Skrtel Robinson

Who would have imagined that at the start of the season?
