I very much want us to be in for him.

Great little player that would make us awesome.

His contract seems to be running out come Summer right?

He's great but forever injured. So I reckon Rafa probably fancies his chances.

He'd be a great full back for us

Oh, I forgot about that.

Has he been injured this Season mostly or has he fallen out of favour with Ancelotti?

Anyways we'll give him a few drops of Horse placenta and he'll up and jumping in no time.

I'm not sure his absence from the Chavs' team lately has been down to injury. Seems to me Ancelotti doesn't fancy picking him.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Apparently demanding 100,000 a week from Chelsea, he needs to really look at his injury record before he demands such a ridiculous figure but I guess Man city would pay that.

A very different player. Joe Cole isn't and never has been a true wide man, but he is more versatile and he's Prem-proven. I like Turan too, but if it ha to be one or the other I'd stick with Cole.

we simply can't afford to have another injury prone player earning around 100k a week. It would be suicidal.

As much as I like Joe Cole, this is the harsh truth right here.
It would be bonkers to sign him considering his injuries over the past 18/24 months.

I can't believe he or his agent would be daft enough to demand such a salary if he were still injured. I'd also be banking on his need to reignite his career and driving a fairly hard bargain over the salary anyway.

Arda is just as versatile, more skillful and is potentially the next big thing, whereas Joe Cole will never be that. He's a player on the downward slide, I'd much prefer to sign a player on an upwards curve. More importantly, he *wants* to come and play for us.

Hasn't Joe Cole always talked very respectful of Liverpool? Maybe he'd be tempted to take a pay-cut to reignite his career at a canter?

There's no way his recent form deserves any contract as big as they're looking for. There was obviously a bunch of clubs that would give out overly generous contracts in the past - west ham, Pompey being two that spring to mind. I'll be amazed if there is much interest in him at that price, the agent is obviously hoping that man city will get involved. Although given the disrespect they're showing to SWP by only offering him 70k a week they probably won't be too keen.

Ha, is that sarcastic? 70k a week for SWP is very generous.

I would love a fully fit Joe Cole on our left side.

He would be worth 80k a week if we got him cheap but sadly his injury record and wage demands mean its a big no for us.

Shame as he always gave the impression of liking us.

I think Rosco is talking about Ian Wright's latest rant?

Ooh I see.

Good player but a big risk.

I don't think it's one we can afford to take.

KHL wants a player that isn't from Denmark, pretty significant.

JOE COLE

It's a name that's made for capitals.

JOE COLE

Not my fault.

Joe Cole reminds me of a brain-damaged market-stall holder
[/quote]

Who'd you rather have, Joe Cole or Albert Riera?

It'll never happen anyway, i reckon he'll get a contract sorted out with Chelsea.

I'm a huge fan of JC, and he is absolutely perfect for the systems preferred by Rafa, given he could occupy any of the 3 positions behind Torres, and play them better than anyone we have in our squad apart from Gerrard. That being said, I have to reluctantly agree that given our financial position, we'd need a player guaranteed to be fit for at least a large proportion of the season, and whilst there's no such guaranteed player, JC is just far too much of a risk.

It really pains me to say that though.
