Joe Cole to Spurs?

In a rare moment of "told you so": I do recall posting that Coles father had (despite his sons protests to the contrary) openly recounted his sons, and daughter in laws, desire to move back "darn sarf" to London as soon as possible....that was about 4 months ago.

I realise his wages are an issue but I will feel a degree of regret about this as we didn't even give him a chance

Maybe he didn't deserve one?

I'm not agreeing or diagreeing, but its reasonable to assume there's a reason why we fucked him off.

Here's how it works, if you are on shit loads of money, you don't get lots of chances. Kids get chances. If you are on shit loads of money and are abysmal, because you were an awful, stupid purchase, people look to ship you out.

Hopefully Joe Cole's imagined brilliance is still out there, and some other club will be willing to shell out.

This was being talked about a few days back because Modric was rumoured to be going and they'd targeted Cole as a replacement. Now Modric has come out and said he's staying, so..

Shit. Spurs were probably our best chance of offloading him without taking a massive hit.

Who can we ship him off to now? Maybe Villa will take him as a replacement for Young?

One of the lads on twitter who knows his stuff tweeted Goodbye Joe Cole last night.

Hopefully that means he'll be off shortly.

Joe Cole is a target for new Fulham manager Martin Jol.

Cole has endured a frustrating season at Liverpool where his appearances were restricted by injury and a failure to establish himself in the first team when fit.

The arrival of £16million man Jordan Henderson will also restrict his chances.

Jol could well ask for a season’s loan from Cole, whose international career has also nosedived after he made a good initial impression on England boss Fabio Capello.

And Cole may well see the move back to London as the perfect chance to relaunch his career.

As long as its a loan where they pay 100% of his wages, otherwise no dice, id prefer a permanent move and a fee to recoup the wagse we paid him but i dont think there are many clubs willing to take him on at 100k a week plus a transfer fee, QPR or Spurs look the only possible outlets

Harry Redknapp press conf today: "I'd be lying if I sat here and said I wouldn't have Joe Cole at the club." #lfc

"I like Joe," he said. "I signed him as an 11-year-old. He is a good player. I've got all the time in the world for him. We haven't made any enquiries about him but I wouldn't sit here and say I wouldn't have him at the club because if I did I'd be lying. I do like him."

When was the last time Redknapp denied interest in any player? :-\

HAHAHA. I heard he didn't even know that Fantasy Football advert he's on wasn't actually real life.

The former England international is resigned to finding himself a new club in a bid to play first-team football and is hopeful of receiving offers from both Spurs and QPR before the close of the transfer window.
His manager, though, is adamant he will not freeze Cole out if no offers materialise. “If Joe is here he will very much be part of things,” said Dalglish.
“He will be treated exactly the same as everyone else. His attitude and commitment has been fantastic. He will not be discarded in any way, shape or form.”

I'm pretty sure we will, will, will. Kenny's showing his ruthless side with these various transfers out of the club. The kind words are a spoonful of sugar to help things go smoothly.

Harry is literally the stupidest manager in the game. I hope he can convince Levy of the merits of this deal.
