Jarvis, who was rewarded for his fine form this season with his first cap for England in the midweek draw with Ghana, is thought to be on Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish's wanted list.

Dalglish is keen to bring in some much-needed width to the squad next season and he sees Jarvis as the man who could provide the ammunition for the new-look strikeforce of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.

A number of other Premier League clubs are thought to be tracking Jarvis ahead of this summer's transfer window, but Liverpool are hoping to steal a march on their rivals as they weigh up a move for the former Gillingham man.

The 24-year-old would fit Liverpool's idea of bringing in young emerging players for the future and Dalglish is understood to be keen to add a British element to his squad for next season.

Wolves would be loathe to lose Jarvis, but they could face a battle to keep hold of the pacy winger if they fail to secure their Premier League status.

I've seen very little of him. Would he be a better option than Young? Any Youtube clips?

I'd like him and Young, although Jarvis should only come if the price is cheap.

He's not good enough. Looks good at Wolves, but who wouldn't?

Just another solid but unspectacular player. We had that in Riera. We need significantly better than him, and preferably someone who has pace to burn.

He is quick but we can do better.

Is Jarvis right or left footed?

He's left footed.

Ashley Young is better than Jarvis.

I would be happy with Young, Jarvis (for balance on the left) and shitredhotworldclasswinger.

Am I being greedy?

I always thought he was a righty playing on the left.

Not really, our wide options are abysmal.

I originally thought that and that he was shunted to the left because Wolves also had Kightly who preferred playing on the right. As Jarvis remains on the left despite Kightly being out injured all season I think Jarvis must be left footed (but now you've put a doubt in my mind).

Just googled it, some sites suggest he's left-footed and some right-footed. The more i think about it the more I'm beginning to think he may be right footed but he does have a very decent left foot if indeed he is right-footed.

STEVE BULL reckons Matt Jarvis is the answer to England's left-side problem because unlike most Premier League players he is two-footed.

Wolves legend Bull, 45, was the last player from the club to represent the national team, 20 years ago.

But Jarvis, 24, can take that record if he gets on the field against Wales today or against Ghana on Tuesday.

Bull said: "He's predominantly a right-footer who plays on the left but he has the ability to go both ways.

"He can deliver pinpoint crosses on either foot and when you look at the likes of Peter Crouch or Andy Carroll being in the centre, that could be a real weapon.

"Jarvis works so hard, going forward and defending and he fully deserves his call."

Jarvis was plucked from Gillingham in 2007 by Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.

Bull said: "He's just getting better and better. Credit to Mick for spotting him."

Unfortunately now that he's capped and using Steve fat head Bruces reasoning on Jordan Hendersons price after one england cap, he's probably worth about 20 million. Man I hate Fat Head!

didn't realise he was argentinian

About to post that. Ha.

Not fussed on Jarvis. Major Meh signing for me.

I'd like 'more Luis Suarez, less Charlie Adam' to be our summer signings mantra.

Double Player of the Year Matt Jarvis today gave Wolves a huge end-of-season boost by declaring he wants to stay at Molineux.

The England international insisted he wants to remain a part of an exciting future at Wolves after winning the Player of the Year award from fans and players
at last night’s gala end-of-season awards dinner at Telford International Centre.

Jarvis has already been linked with moves to Liverpool and Villa this summer after his dazzling form led to his first England cap against Ghana in March.

But the exciting wideman, who turns 25 on Survival Sunday when Wolves host Blackburn in their winner-takes-all clash, wants to stay to help the club grow in the Premier League.

“It’s a club with a great future so why wouldn’t I want to stay here?†said Jarvis.

“Of course I’m happy here – I’ve been enjoying my football. If it wasn’t for playing here then I wouldn’t have been able to do anything that I’ve achieved this season. It’s a fantastic club and hopefully we can stay up at the weekend.â€

And Jarvis wants to make his double award a treble by helping Wolves clinch a third successive season in the Premier League.

“It would be a lovely hat-trick to celebrate the awards by staying up, because that’s what we all want,†he said.

“It’s a massive game for everyone and we’re all looking forward to it.

“There are no nerves – we know if we get a win on Sunday then that’s it, we’ve got another season in the Premier League, which is where everyone wants to be.â€

Jarvis has won player of the year and goal of the year gongs at former club Gillingham but admitted this campaign has topped everything.

“It’s got to be my best season – so many things have happened, it’s been like a rollercoaster and I’ve enjoyed being on that ride,†he added.

“Hopefully it will end the way we all want it to and we can all enjoy our holidays.â€

Jarvis was delighted to be crowned with both awards but especially pleased to be recognised by his fellow pros. “It was fantastic to get both of them – the fans have watched us all season and it’s great to get the plaudits from them, but to get an award from your team-mates as well, it’s fantastic to know that they think I’m the best player of the season,†he sid.

“They see me every single day so it’s a great honour from them.â€

Didn't realise he was already 25. :-X
