Who can we sell in our squad without necessarily needing a replacement?
Origi?
Mignolet?

Why has he played so few minutes?

Seeing what clubs in the Dutch league are asking for players I just see Klopp shelling out that much for player that at best will be a bench warmer.

Nicolas Pepe would take Liverpool to another level, Jürgen Klopp must act now

The Lille forward would be an excellent signing for Liverpool, and they must try and beat Arsenal to his signature.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp will surely be keen to bolster his ranks at Anfield this month, in an effort to inject some freshness and energy into his side's challenge for the Premier League title.
One particular area where the German might be looking to strengthen is his attacking department, with more competition required for the Reds' current front three.
With this in mind, Liverpool should consider challenging Arsenal for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

The French club's sporting director Luis Campos spoke exclusively to French publication Telefoot, and admitted that they will be willing to sell the 23-year-old this month, but for nothing less than €80 million (£72 million).
Pepe possesses blistering pace, and he can play anywhere along the front-line - something that makes him ideally suited to the manner in which Klopp likes his forward players to interchange positions.
The Ivory Coast international has been in scintillating form this season, racking up 12 goals and seven assists in 19 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille, and that kind of attacking output really could help take Liverpool to another level entirely.

Pepe would be far from a guaranteed starter at Anfield, and that might prove to be problematic in tempting him into moving to Merseyside.
Klopp should at least try to bring the Lille ace to Liverpool, however, and although £72 million seems like a lot of money on the face of it, in today's market, it would actually represent decent value for a player of Pepe's ilk.

Dolberg's been injured a few times after coming back in after a longer spell on the sidelines, so they decided to ease him in the third time and that has helped. He looks way stronger now.

He'll probably cost around £50M so yeah that's a lot for a potential banchwarmer, but he would instantly give us a new dimension as he's much more of a striker than say Bobby. I'd buy him now, let him finish the season with Ajax to join us come Summer and he'd be in contention to become a regular or thereabouts next season.

I don't think we're spending 50 million + on anyone without selling first.

You say that, but we were meant to be signing Fekir for that kind of money before we decided his knee was made of shortbread.

You say that, but we were meant to be signing Fekir for that kind of money before we decided his knee was made of shortbread.

But then we got Shaq. You know how Klopp only wants certain players, we normally hear about them through the grapevine, and there's no-one, is there?

How has Fekir been this year ?

Anyone ?

Stats are quite a bit worse than last year, but still ok. Played 12, scored 4, 2 assists.

Last year he played 30, scored 18 and had 8 assists.

12 games must only be two thirds of the league games at this stage. So maybe the concerns were warranted

He's was given a few games off because he won the World Cup and he's got 3 in 5 in the CL, so not terrible like.

I think we're gonna have to get our head round the fact that as we have the best attack in the world it's not possible to improve on it.

He's nowhere near as skillful or as strong or as good in the air as Torres.

If I had to compare him to someone, it'd be a less technical Michael Owen.
For me Werner is much more in the Owen mould as well. Not quite his level mind. Werner hasn't got the physique nor the height of Torres back in the day. I don't like that comparison to be honest.

*I actually thought the Torres comparison was in regards to Dolberg whom by all means is build and plays more like the blonde Spaniard.

Not sure if you are right here mate.. I heard from reliable Sources that one of them was nothing but a flabby melt.....

Not far from the truth that, I do however feel we are a bit vulnerable when it comes to a Firmino back-up solution. I know the way we attack in numbers really suit a false nine like Booby but it would be nice with a thoroughbred striker to chose from, now that neither Sturrdige, Solanke or Origi seems up for it.

But Firmino is a very atypical striker. Who can we point at looking remotely close to him? Strikers like to lurk around the box while they hate to do the dirty work.

I don't think we can say Solanke isn't up for it when he looked boss pre-season and has been given about half a game since.

Also, this Brewster kid is meant to be wicked

That's a fair point I guess, I just don't have much faith in him reaching the acquired level. I could well be wrong.

Does he have Torres' acceleration... that was a big part of what made him great.

I think if we lose tonite Klopp will surprise us tomorrow night by signing some worldy...like Fabbinio after losing the CL final.

Go and spunk 90 million on that Napoli CB Koulibaly to partner VVD until Gomez is back. Then just sell him in the summer for 100m. Easy!

Was Dolberg the lad that was shite against Utd in the Europa cup final and subbed off?

We definitely need another striker.
