Both - cheap enough for Liverpool and one that is a secret outside the Player/selling club/LFC Sporting director circle

hopefully but following in the macallister example it’ll probably be a summer transfer

Definitely - he's unfortunate Bayern are always stacked for wingers.

In the PL, the other London clubs were always out for him. We could never afford him. His only real option was ever City, who ballsed up signing both Grealish and Doku.

Spurs triggered a one year extension didn’t they - it’s not like they gave him a new contract

Yes, they did. Which makes it so weird that they worded it as agreed on a new contract. Positive news must be really slow for Ange and co.

Its peak Chelsea that they want to sign Guehi (valued at 60-70 mill) 3,5 years after selling him to Palace for 18 mill.

… and they have 500 CBs that they bought already.

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Lens to sign Abdukodir Khusanov for €40m (£33.5m) plus add-ons, with the centre-back set to be the first signing of the window as Pep Guardiola seeks to bolster his squad.

Having not trained with the Ligue 1 club on Friday, the 20-year-old is expected to officially become a City player imminently. When he does, the 6ft 1in Uzbekistan international will join up with Guardiola’s squad and immediately become part of his first-team plans.

Seems dodgy.

Hasn’t he always had an addiction to buying defenders, so much so that he has to start playing them in midfield?

I thought it was the opposite, playing midfielders everywhere - CB, full-back, wings and up front. At Bayern he didn’t want to play prime Lewandowski because he was so obsessed with midfielders.

But yeah, now he seems to be going through a “9 defenders and Haaland” phase.

So much so of late that Gvardiol ranked in the top 100 attackers in the world in a stat driven list from ESPN. Think he was in the 60s or 70s, ahead of not just attacking fullbacks like Trent and Hakimi (the only two other defenders) but also Gakpo and others.

He's over-clevered himself by half.

Haven't seen it mentioned here but Kyle Walker has requested a transfer in this window. Wonder if Real would be in for him if Trent tells them he's staying.

Also wonder what would be more detrimental to our title chances: Trent leaving in January or Walker leaving City.
