There’s still time for the “we tried to get X over the line at the last minute but ran out of time/paper for the fax machine/helicopter got delayed/filled in the paperwork incorrectly and couldn’t seal the deal before the “window slammed shut!!!!” In order to fill us with hope that it’ll be different next window.

I think it used to be the case that the deadline for loan signings was 24 hours later, so the day after transfer deadline day, after signing no one, this place was full of speculation on who we could get on loan and then the next day, after even that ship had sailed, it was a list of all the out of contract players we could potentially still sign .... ah bliss

Money spent wise, under Klopp (from 2016 till date), it's £661m. As per the below tweet, Chelsea's spending this season inc. add ons is £611m
@King Binny - screw them, and good luck to them in trying to integrate those players into their squad and match day selections. We just have to move on now , nothing we can do now, our players will have to sort their shit out now.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this - Echo actually bothered typing this - Isco and Zakaria Labyad (without a club since leaving Ajax at the end of last season) the suggested names.

Player Ajax Labyad will not be prosecuted for abuse of contractor
[article]Labyad is in his last months as an Ajax player. The attacking midfielder has been told that his contract, which expired two weeks ago, will not be renewed. He has been playing for Ajax since 2018 and was replaced by FC Utrecht for 4 million euros at the time.
Labyad is not in the plans of manager Erik ten Hag this season. He only played two official games this year, but was injured regularly. He last played against RKC on November 21.
In 2022, Labyad has not yet made a minute. In January and February he injured his foot and stayed off the field. He spent the entire match on the bench for Ajax’s last five matches.[/article]

I quite like how Leicester try to find value in bringing players from Championship from time to time - Maguire, Justin, Maddison.
Poor Lorient - 6th and in with a chance of qualifying for Europe (after escaping relegation by 4 pts last season) but lost 2 of their biggest stars this Jan transfer window - this despite Bournemouth owner Bill Foley's acquisition in the same month.
