From the offal. Good brand.

German outdoor clothing outfitter Jack Wolfskin continues its successful campaign to increase brand recognition in the UK with its commitment to sponsor Liverpool FC in the coming season.

A contract period of three years has been agreed and the deal includes a range of rights that will enhance Jack Wolfskin's exposure.

"The decision to partner with a popular and historical club such as Liverpool was in keeping with our goals of increasing brand recognition in the UK by using the popularity of football and to attract new target groups to the outdoor clothing market. This strategy builds on the huge success that Jack Wolfskin has had on the domestic market," is how Manfred Hell, Managing Director of Jack Wolfskin GmbH & Co. KGaA, explains the expansion of the brand's sponsorship portfolio.

"For many years, sponsoring the German league has been one of the most important elements of Jack Wolfskin's brand promotion in Germany, which is why we are all the more delighted to be active with England's most successful club as part of this expansion abroad. This unique combination of tradition and success and the inimitable legend of Anfield Road would set any football fan's heart racing."

Ian Ayre, Liverpool Football Club's Commercial Director added, "We welcome Jack Wolfskin to our family of partners. They are seeking to expand their business in the UK, and our goal is to help them increase awareness of their products that are designed for high altitude and outdoor activities."

How exactly do we benefit from a mountain-wear brand?
[/quote]

From the money they pay us presumably.

I wish I were called "Jack Wolfskin".

It would be fantastically amazing

Really? I'd have thought it would give your mates a bit too much scope for making up unfortunate nicknames for you, especially out there in Oz.

Money?

Or have I missed something?

In Q'sdefence, what he means is that branding is great and the money that comes with it is also great...but our marketing people should also be looking at global brands if possible.

Before they were linked with us, lots on here had never even heard of Standard Chartered..but they're a big deal over here.

The same goes for Jack Wolfskin; they may be well-known there but if I'd just heard the name I'd have just thought he was a rabbi conducting Avram's wedding ;D

It's still good news though, every penny earned can be useful.

We could dump Babel at the top of Mount Everest whilst appearing stylish in the process.

If we're trying to win the Title with Insua still at left back then we certainly have a mountain to climb.
