Lets put together an all time Liverpool 18 (starting 11 in a 4-4-2 and 7 subs) based on players having ONE unbelievable game for us (ie - The most amazing game in that position, so if it was England id nominate Beckham vs Greece or Lineker vs Poland)

I'll start with The Steven Gerrard from the FA cup final 2006 in CM

-----------------------------? ?---------------------------------
? ?------------? ?-------------------------? ?----------------? ?
? ?---------Gerrard (FA cup 06)----------? ?-----------------? ?
------------------? ?-----------------? ?------------------------

Hope that makes sense!

Can each poster just nominate ONE players performance so everyone can have a go.

Beckham v greece ? You need to rewatch that game, he was shite and then scored on his 102nd free kick opportunity.

That Alonso game against Spurs was as good a midfield performance as is possible.

I was going to mention Alonso vs Spurs, although I think maybe the one where he came on as a sub and made that shambles into a team singlehandedly.
Bollocks. Yes he had a lot of free kicks and only scored late on, but his drive, effort and determination was amazing. It was all on him that we qualified.

OOOOhh.... i REALLY hate Beckham and always have but he did not have a shite game against Greece Rosco, he was positively swashbuckling in that game, so i disagree there. The rest of the team were utter bollocks that day however. The fact that it was his very last good game for England and nearly 10 years ago is the depressing thing from an Englishmans point of view.

I would pick Maradona against every fucker in the 86 world cup...

and Henry against Inter Milan in the San siro in 2004.

For a Liverpool player its much harder to pick one...

Beckham wasted so many free kick opportunities in that game, if he had let someone else take some of them England probably would have won comfortably. He was playing for himself and dragged the rest of the team down with his selfishness; he was determined to get the winning goal to put himself on the front page of the papers, luckily he did or his team-mates would have been justified in giving him a kicking after the game.

Sissoko v Barcelona is my nomination.

That was Fulham away. We won 4-2 after being 2-0 down.

No, I'm talking about a Cup game, which I think we ended up losing.

I'm no fan of the national team, but beckham did the business vs greece when others were shite.
He was shit SG but you couldn't fault his effort. Unfortunately he tried to do everything himself and nothing came off for him until that last kick.
Aye, apart from that goal, the assist to Sheringham for the first, the drive and determination and the 90% pass success he was fucking muckzzzzzzzzzz
