Whilst a quality squad of a large size is preferable, its still 11 against 11.

A good manager will be able to find enough quality without having to spend shitloads of money; bearing in mind Rafa has spent shitloads on shit players, w're not in that bad a position.

We are still Liverpool, and we will be able to attract investment and hopefully, the Yanks fuck off.

Its not all bleak.

We have been trying to attract investment for some time now and its precisely this stalling that has allowed other clubs to gain so much ground on us, we will be miles behind city by the time this summer is over and Spurs and Villa will again have more resources available to strengthen

It's very bleak. Rafa will be here next season I reckon, and then it's the same turgid team performances. I can't see it being significantly improved bar miracle investment or an absolute steal in the transfer market. Both of which seem equally unlikely. City will improve, and they're already better than us. I wouldn't be surprised if we're out of the top 4 again next season. What a fucking season.

We need to find some absolute loon who's minted to throw money at us. Has anyone got the number to the king of Sealand?

Don't agree with the "loon" bit. We're still an excellent prospect. They will have to be prepared to risk putting in a lot up front though.

I just meant a la City's owners. They'd need to put an awful lot of money in for the squad, stadium, loan etc. I don't know too much about the financial side of it if I'm honest. I just think it's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

All fair points there. Would only add (and this really is playing devils' advocate) that H and G were unlucky in the timing of the credit crunch too, but I've never been a big fan of theirs and it won't exactly break my heart to see the back of them.

the yanks would have put the debt on buying the club back onto the club credit crunch or no credit crunch. I think its possible that no credit crunch would have seen them start work on the stadium though.
