Italians eye Reds starlet
Skysports.com understands Liverpool starlet Damien Plessis could be set for a move away from Anfield before the close of the transfer window.

A mystery Italian club are thought to be keen on signing the highly-rated 21-year-old.

The French midfielder has found himself well down the pecking order this season, making just one appearance in the Carling Cup against Arsenal.

Plessis joined Liverpool in 2007 from Lyon and he made his debut for the first team in April 2008.

However, the French Under 21 international has struggled to make an impact and has found himself restricted to a role in the reserves.

His Italian suitors are understood to have watched him in action for the reserves in midweek against Manchester City and they are hoping to strike a deal for his services.

this is exactly why nobody should ever get excited about us being linked with previously unheard of highly rated starlets.

Yes, the fans of said mystery Italian club think they're buying a Liverppol Starlet when really they're getting a poor mans Momo.

Whats the betting he turns out to play much better for whoever he joins??

That said, I cant imagine how as he is shite

He's never gong to develop into a decent footballer.

His brain works slower than evolution and he's horribly one-footed. He's got to go.

That would mean Lucas getting injured, which he doesn't despite my repeated stabbings of his voodoo doll.

TBF Momo's doing well at Juventus despite his rep not having been high when he left us. Whoever's after Plessis may think Serie A will suit him better too.

..and there was a time that Momo looked immense for us - then he stopped. We should send the Plessis v Arsenal tape to these Italians - add a bit to his price.

a few midfielders have moved from premier league reserve squads to top european clubs and are doing extremely well..

that dzemelli kid?

There is another that used to be with Blackburn and now players in Germany.. forgot his name..

Plessis might go well in Italy.. closing down is nearly an alien concept in Italy.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed that an unnamed Italian club has shown an interest in Damien Plessis.

Skysports.com revealed over the weekend that the midfielder was the subject of an approach and a loan move would now appear a distinct possibility.

Plessis' career has stalled at Anfield since he made a handful of appearances after breaking into the first team in 2007/08 and Benitez has indicated that he is willing to negotiate.

The Liverpool boss told his club's official website: "Plessis is a young player who isn't playing games. We were considering a loan but we're talking to the player and his agent.

"We had an Italian team asking about him and we'll see if we can find a solution that is best for him and for us."

it won't be easy to let go of such a talent like damien, but i think liverpool can overcome the loss.

LOL

I would take 50 cents on the dollar for him at this point, he struggles mightily even in League Cup matches.
