OK, I'm a pessimist by nature but that win was really uplifting.
I'm not saying that we'll win it (the league) but if we play with the same mentality, like we did at Chavski, against City on Saturday we'll beat them.

Gerrard is back soon, Henderson is starting to prove himself, Adam has cemented a spot in the team and Maxi has finally been given a chance.

We can beat anyone on any given day.
Let's just show everyone that we mean business and continue on our unbeaten run.

That's all.

Not sure I get the point of this thread?

What is not over?

The game against City? The race for 4th? The League Cup the Fa Cup?

The title?

He's obviously talking about the league.

And I agree to a certain degree, we're not going to win it, but the forward line of maxi, Suarez and bellers is as good as it gets.
Love big Andy and all, but if we stick with that, top 4 is practically a given.

I'll have some of what you're smoking.

there is no way Top 4 is "a given" for us this year, regardless of what particular side we stick out.

It's not as good as it gets, but it's as good as we've got. If that performance hasn't highlighted the amount of money Kenny pissed away this summer then nothing will. At least he's beginning to take note I guess.

Play that team, at that intensity, every week and we'll comfortably secure top four football.

I'll admit was bit over the top, had a few in me..
But in all honesty, tell me a team that will defend better against that set up, as opposed to carroll in the side.. Not having a go at big Andy, love the man, but it is what it is.

It's not a given, no, but the strength of the big clubs in England is as strong as it used to be. We would be in with a very good shout if we could replicate that performance. Kenny has to go with his gut. I felt he did that against Chelsea and I hope that feeling lasts until May.

You're talking pure sense squiggles my man, pretty much how I look at it..
With the money we spent we should have more options, but in reality, we don't.
Today's set up is the way forward, bar gerrard obviously. For most games

1 result against a very poor Chelsea side proves nothing.

And we'll win again this weekend and it will still prove nothing.

Andy will play the majority of games and there is no getting away from that.

I talked about this ad nausem a few weeks back actually:

Beating Chelsea, Man City, etc isn't our problem. i didn't think we'd win last Sunday, but i'm not surprised we did. We're cpabale of beating the good sides around us without fail. We're incapable of consistently beating the likes of Sunderland, Norwich, Swansea, Wolves etc. Those are the results that matter - getting 3 points against the 15 inferior sides in the league, not showing up for a performance at Stamford Bridge when the Sky cameras are in town.

Look at the result United got at Swansea on Saturday. Played shite, Sinclair missed an open goal, and they still won. They've been still winning for 20 years now, and that's why they've got 19 titles.

Sorry for not being clear but I meant that we can still get something from this season. Basically get a top 4 spot or challenge for the title.

Whilst I think City will win at a canter this year (because they wont lose to any of the shite that we struggle against) I think our results and our form arent as bad as some people would have you believe. What is it now, unbeaten in 9 games?

LIVERPOOL 1 - 1 SUNDERLAND Not a brilliant result, but a decent one. We should have won.

ARSENAL 1 - 2 LIVERPOOL Great result

EXETER 1 - 3 Good result. Expected

LIVERPOOL 3 - 1 BOLTON Good result

STOKE 1 - 0 LIVERPOOL We were proper robbed. Shit result undeserved.

TOTTENHAM 4 - 0 LIVERPOOL Awful performance, worst of the season.

BRIGHTON 1 - 2 LIVERPOOL Good stuff

LIVERPOOL 2 - 1 WOLVES Expected

EVERTON 0 - 2 LIVERPOOL Great result

LIVERPOOL 1 - 1 MAN UTD Decent result, should have won.

LIVERPOOL 1 - 1 NORWICH Shame. Needed a win.

STOKE 1 - 2 LIVERPOOL Great result

WEST BROM 0 - 2 LIVERPOOL Really good result

LIVERPOOL 0 - 0 SWANSEA Tough pill to swallow, not a great result.

CHELSEA 1 - 2 LIVERPOOL Great result.

We're unbeaten at home and have lost less than Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea
We've lost just 2 in all competitions, one of those undeserved and one when we got humped but with players sent off. We have missed our best player for most of the season and we have a raft of new players bedding in. We also have the best defensive record in the league and have played six of the toughest fixtures in this league.
If you take that back to back Stoke and Spurs debacle out we are flying. And I KNOW we cant take those results out, and we shouldnt, but you all saw the games, were we not unlucky against Stoke, was it not a one off against Spurs?
We are doing ok, unbeaten in two months (and November is normally horrible for us) and about to start a friendly christmas season where we barely leave the North west.

Im happy mostly.

Great spin on things Oncy. I had to double check about the defensive record but indeed we are joint with City and Newcastle as having the best, despite a 4-0 trashing. Good stuff. I agree with you, if we can get a point against City, especially if we get three, we'll be in a good position, assuming Newcastle do collapse. Spurs are still making me nervous though, we really need them to drop some points soon.

Whats with the fucking Nay Sayers on this site?

we are 3 points off 3rd, and the way people go on, you'd think we was 3 points off bottom?

listen guys we are 3 points off THIRD and haven't even clicked yet.........

Imagine if we'd beaten Norwich, Swansea and Sunderland and drawn with Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton.
🙂

Point made ONCEY, it's been better the way we have done it. I'd sooner be rueing drawing to the lower lads, than throwing away silly draws to the big ones, the morale boosters, the benchmarkers.

FACE IT PEOPLE, we are on the way back and WE WILL be in the CL next season, with Downing crossing to Carroll, who lays it back to Henderson for the deciding goal in the last game. I can see it, by god!

Thats for next season Oncey, this seasons just getting back to basics 😉

And any way no team wins every fucking game, and last season they would have all been losses .....
