There was a serious lack of urgency in the Irish team there. They had the ball in the French half while losing and they were fucking about instead of launching it towards the goal.
A few days longer rest help a lot. Even before the game you could figure out how the second half would look like. Not a fair schedule to say the least.
Regardless, good show from North and South this year. Limited squads with no real stars on either team and it shows that a great team ethic can still make you a good team. Wales showing the difference between having no standout players and having two in Bale and Ramsay. If you stuck them two in either Irish team they would still be in.
Fans were fantastic and its always a shame to see yis go out.
I don't think that's really true Ross. You were the better team in the first half, they were the better side in the second half and took the initiative. Considering there were a few lower tier players in your lineup (and you went a man down), you did yourselves proud. I think after all the pressing in the first half, France's fitness showed in the end, they'd had a 6 day break too.
