International duty

I suppose its better than having a squad full of players not considered good enough to play for their country, but we are going to have one hell of an exodus every time there's an international break next season. And worryingly, we don't have a great record of receiving them back fit and well.

For England-alone we're probably going to lose:

Gerrard
Carroll
Henderson
Downing(?)
Kelly (perhaps)
Johnson

i hate international football.

Only two of them have proved themselves to Capello though.

Hopefully it won't be too bad.

I don't want anyone playing that shit that it means they don't get called up because of poor form though.

Just accept its an unavoidable part of having international class players in your squad and keep your fingers crossed the lads come back safe and sound every time.

Pacheco worries me more. he seems to flit off for every international youth tournament going, seems he's away more than he's here. How can he expect to break through into the first team squad, and stay there, if there is no continuity ? Obviously youth players need these higher level events as often there is a dearth of decent competition at home but .... double edged sword.

Hopefully Sterling & Suso don't fall into this trap.

Well its difficult to say if Henderson will be in Capellos plans and Kelly is speculative but its fairly safe to assume Gerrard Johnson and Carroll will be called up when fit even if Gerrard will be used more sparingly from now on. Thats fair enough you have to expect that as part of having international quality players in your squad and its the same for all tops clubs in the major leagues around europe, Im more concerned with the likes of Suarez Lucas and Maxi flying 10,000 miles round trip every international break and arriving back in no condition to turn out for the team on Saturday.

But Capello seems to be swayed by big transfer fees involving big clubs for some reason. Carroll's fitness hasn't been there since he joined really but once it is I suspect both him and Henderson will be in his plans!
