International Break

On the subject of International breaks, - now don't assume I am one of those people that always make an issue out of race, I don't but I always notice the underlying issues - especially when it comes to the England team. If Harry Maguire was a black player showing the same form for club, he would NEVER have been picked for England for these friendlies. Fact.
Jesus Christ. That fact is only in your head luckily not in real life.

Why do people have to invent racial/sexist issues as the default answer to anything / everything nowadays? Instead of looking for more logical answers (to paraphrase Occam's Razor).

Number of black (or mixed-race) players in the PL (25% as at Dec 2021), total number of black players in professional football in the UK (7.8%) number of black players in the latest 25 man England squad 8 or 9 if you include Saka who departed with covid (32-36%) and for the last competitive England WC squad it was 9 (36%).

Maguire is Southgate's captain so regardless of current form he's going to give him some leeway (to say nothing of the fact Southgate is not a 'pick them on current form' manager.

There's absolutely nothing at all to suggest Southgate picks on race.

He's always had his favourites. To be fair to him, no matter how shit they are for their clubs, Pickford and Maguire have seldom let him down.

Only players I have seen consistently picked for England who have yet to see translate their club form for are Fodden and Mount. Mount even more so, seems to be like the new Dele Alli who has started every game without any impact.

Oh I dunno… I think he’s had a massive impact.

Imagine finding a player that you can dislike more than Raheem Sterling and Jordan Pickford - that’s impressive.

It’s Salah v Mane III tonight, hopefully both lads get back home as brothers. Not particularly bothered about result.

So one of Salah or Mane will get a full rest mid season during the WC which is great. If Egypt qualify i can’t see them getting very far so we can only hope Mo would get home early too.

But he will still count as home-grown, right?

Apparently:

The 19-year-old, who came through the Cottagers' academy, has represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level after his family moved from Lisbon to London. However, after passport issues brought into question his ability to earn an England under-21 call-up, the country of his birth has swooped in.

According to Sky Sports (via The Star ), Carvalho's England under-21 hopes had been thrown into question when it emerged he had not passed a British citizenship test. The player doesn't have a British passport, meaning he would reportedly be unable to represent England sides in competitive games.

Hope those dirty fuckers Egypt get knocked out. Fucking vile group of players (except Salah).

Never really noticed. Take your word for it.
Either way, Salah will play another 120 mins under Quirez. Both gonna come back fcked…

More heart break on international duty for Salah. At least he can put his feet up when the others are fucking about in Qatar.

And lets be honest, that Egypt team has no business being in a World Cup.

Hopefully it makes him very very angry for the rest of the season and he scores a ton.
