Betis' Assane Diao

Not sure why Betis sold Diao but Como definitely made a shrewd move at €11m

On Diao and his second goal in a row, Cesc said: "He is a young, strong and powerful guy. Today for the first time I also used him as a real striker in the final. He did very well, having a player like Fadera is important. He attacks the depth, he helps the team a lot."

With the rise of "new" names like Mykhaylo Mudryk and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, I though it's interesting to keep an eye on upcoming talents.

One that caught my eye today is Dango Ouattara (plays on the left wing). Got a goal and assist for Lorient at home vs. Lyon. Did a quick check and realised this is the 3rd game in a row he has assisted/scored in.

That's 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 league starts. He had 25 league appearances last season but only started 7 games (1 goal 2 assists).

Below was an assist during the AFCON earlier this year.

The first player I posted in this thread. 🥹

I think Iraola potentially hit on a goldmine with Outtara at CF playing in front of Justin Kluivert. Last two games against Newcastle and Forest (both good teams) they’ve scored 7 between the pair of them. They are the most dangerous strike pairing in the league on this form.

And their next game is..........

I should say, the most dangerous attacking trio in the league is probably Outtara, Kluivert and Semenyo.

I’ve always been keen on misprofiled players – this doesn’t happen often, but once in a blue moon a player finds a completely new level after a simple change of position. There is a chance Outtara is one.

How does anyone remember the screen names of characters in a movie, let alone one from 38 years ago?? I can barely remember names five minutes after leaving the cinema.

I specialise in remembering random things from TV & movies.

It’s the really important stuff like “what I’m supposed to be doing today” I forget.

Besides Riggs & Murtagh are iconic.

I used to share house with a girl whose surname was Murtagh… I used to call her “Officer”… she had no idea what I was talking about…..

… particularly when I started waving my wallet around and shouting “diplomatic immunity” in a South African accent.

I suppose it would be “diplomitic immunety”

Just brilliant. To this day it’s my go to when I do a South African accent 😆. Joss wotshisname

Joss Ackland - superb voice.

I also remember him from a Pet Shop Boys video… can’t quite remember the song… one after “It’s a Sin”, I think.
