Liverpool-scout Jakob Friis-Hansen to bold.dk:

- As our results has turned out so far the main priority now is to bring in four notable players to the first team in the upcoming transfer window. Players who can walk straight into our starting line-up. Roy (the manager) will hopefully be handed a significant transfer-kitty to work from. I'm working in Italy, Germany, Belgium and Holland and I'm also going to take care of the Spanish area for Liverpool, all work done with regards only to the first team.

- It's been tough luck for Roy to experience the start he's had because there's no doubt that he's a really good coach. But it's been difficult as we haven't been knowing and still don't know what will happen with the club when looked at from an economical perspective. Hopefully I can be able to look at players from the top drawer at that time. But we'll see, ends Friis-Hansen.

NB He was the scout beeing spotted at Lyngby (remember the odd link to three of their players last week) and he's scoffed at those rumours saying that he was only around as he's got a lot of friends in their club and is still playing for their old-boys team. We're not looking to bring in youngsters, talents, prospects etc. at this stage but only players for the firstteam.
 
Sounds cautiously encouraging, I suppose, although I'm not sure he should be telling the press this.

I really don't expect us to buy four first-team players in January though.
 
Lots of shit players could walk into our first team.

There's not much to go on here.
 
Scouts ALWAYS see these things.

It's pretty much what they're paid for. If they turned round & said "I've looked at loads of players, every one of them shit. If we sign any of these cunts we'll end up paying their wages for years & then let them go on a free to Dagenham & Redbridge." then they wouldnt be in employ for long.

Roy Hodgson, who was never trusted with a significant transfer kitty, has predictably been sacked by the new owners of Liverpool Football Club.
 
If Roy is still here in January there's no way he should be given the sort of money you need to buy four first-teamers. That money could be given to whoever replaces him in the summer.

Of course, Roy shouldn't be here in January (or indeed at all), but that's another issue altogether.
 
I'm pretty certain that Roy won't be our manager in january. And equally certain that our new manager will bring in at least 3 maybe 4 players.
 
Probably not the right thread but Poulsen has gone from bad to worse.

Out of 11 danish players he's by a mile the worst. Uniteds new keeper the best.
 
Jokes aside, I still do have faith in Hodgson being able to identify and purchase good players for us.

Whether he gets his current squad performing to a acceptable standard to grant him the chance to spend money improving it is another mater entirely, and it's not looking good.
