....as seems more likely by the minute, is there any Real player who'd sweeten the deal somewhat (Anita and Ross excepted)?

Robben?
Huntelaar?
Ramos?

I've said it before, but Robben would be a completely new type of player for our squad, cuntishness aside.

Ramos is, of course, a top class right back (need), and would also provide excellent cover for central defence should we ever need it.

Huntelaar? Not convinced yet whether he's top class and struggle to see how he'd fit into our system bar being Torres understudy - something I can't see him settling for.

Anyone else?

Ha. He has always seemed a bit, well, overrated to me. No searing pace, nice with back to goal, scores a decent amount in a team that creates many, good aerial power - above average but not a player to improve us greatly.

rafa has said xabi is not for sale so short of there about being a transfer request we actually may kick off the start of the season with alonso in CM. don't know how we'll afford a top class foward/wide midfielder but that's a problem for anther day.
