Missing from a yard out on an open goal. I tend to agree.
The Ronny from 89/90 ... perfect hat trick in his first* game & a total of 7 goals in 8 appearances

* For the sake of argument "first game" = "first game after Sturridge leaves"

I'm trying really fucking hard not to be all doom and gloom but we STILL don't have a keeper, a DM or a striker.
STILL.

And all this wait for the right player is ridiculous if every time you find them you also let another player leave.

We finally find the Coutinho replacement in summer and Salah goes?

We finally find the Mignolet replacement and Firmino goes.

Football isn't the way it was. You can't take years to build because all your WINNERS won't wait years.

That's the biggest reason we are dickheads. For thinking that any of these disloyal young men will stick around for years waiting for our project.

They won't. And that in itself is why the 'project' won't work.

You get 4 or 5 KEY players spending whatever it takes and you become a team who is good enough players want to stay at.

Then you can afford to penny pinch like Chelsea are right now.

Keeper
DM
Striker
CAM

Go.spend.the.fucking.money

The thing I don't get is that there isnt even risk anymore.
You know that regardless of how much you spend one of your players will be worth most of it.

It's practically impossible to overspend now.
If we spent 300m this January buying Oblak, Lemar and Dybala and brought in Keita early (for the sake of argument) where's the risk?
Salah is already worth 150m in this market Firmino 100m
That's most of it recouped if it doesn't work out.

The money around literally means you can take a 200m punt every other year if you are so inclined.

Problem is our cunts are not so inclined.

The "hasn't found a player he likes" theory is completely terrifying if that means he has not identified at least one of GK/DM/Striker/Coutinho Replacement. There's shed loads of better GKs than ours...

In fairness, it is not just a player "he likes" but also one who is available at the moment, that is cited as the issue

I reckon if we went and bought that keeper with a girl's name from Rome then we'd be in the same boat, that's probs what he's on about in that position. That's the only forgivable one. The highest ever fee paid for a keeper was when city spent 35m in the summer. Rome want 45 and he looks average. That Oblak is good but 100m or more? Nah.

We certainly are not acting like it. Are we ?

I don"t buy into the theory that we're sitting on a fortune that Klopp doesn't want to spend.

I'm sure he'd prefer to be signing Aubamayang to bringing Kent back from his loan spell

I think that's the plan, to show we're happy with what we have rather than looking desperate so teams can exploit that.

I don't think
[bcolor=transparent]Aubamayang[/bcolor]
is on our radar though due to the fact they'd be no sell on fee with him.

I think someone like Werner is much more likely if we're signing a striker in the summer over an
[bcolor=transparent]Aubamayang[/bcolor]
type, as he could play for 5 years here and still have a big sell on price.

If I was an owner of a football club I'd be doing similar.

I think there are a few other risks with
[bcolor=transparent]Aubamayang[/bcolor]
as well.

I've never seen such an obvious nervousness about spelling come over so clearly in a post

We are dickheads. We have game-winners up front, game-losers at the back and the midfield can't decide which camp to join so flip-flop between the two.
That might be the best summary of the team I've read
