The owners would love to get rid of Rafa but it would cost them 20m quid to do so.

And with NO CL money, a pending debt crisis waiting to emerge, it's pretty obvious why they haven't taken action.

If Rafa wasn't such a wanker, he would resign and let us try to repair the mess with whatever money we can scrabble together.

What if you weren't such a wanker? Or such a fucking whopper?

£20m. The usual bollocks from the usual suspects with their "Rafa's a wanker" chants. Will he get paid this if gets another job? Will he fuck. How long will it be before he gets another job if he leaves? No time at all.

And don't give me this, he demanded a £20m get out clause. You know less than the average Joe Bloggs on here. As you've so amply demonstrated post after fucking post. T

yes he's made mistakes. But as usual the hystericals like you love to paint a tabloid sensation. The intelligent among us tend not to fall for the bollocks.

Yep. And to be fair Terrier is rapidly becoming Rebel's most fierce competitor.

So basicly, if Ancelotti wins the title in his first shot, people will simply dismiss his accomplishment and point out:

-having a better squad (that hasn't won the league for 3 years)

-has unimaginable riches (that he didn't spend)

-has a huge wage bill (*cough* Leeds United)

interesting.
I haven't read the rest of the replies, but let's look at it this way. The majority of his squad were involved in a team that (a) got to the semi finals of the CL in 2007, only to be knocked out on penalties (b) got to a CL final in 2008 and lost on penalties and (c) got to a CL semi in 2009 only to be absolutely robbed of their place in the final by the ref (I'm not gonna pretend I didn't enjoy it) and finished 2nd, 2nd and 3rd in the league those years, amid several changes of manager. Chelsea had a fantastic, expensively assembled squad when Ancelotti took ever. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Wenger proved you don't need time if you are a great manager.
And yet he's gone 5 years without winning one single thing.

There is NO set timeline of when a club can expect a manager to deliver silverware. Wenger did it right away. Rafa did it right away. Ferguson didn't. Chelsea is a revolving door after Jose did it. Real is a circus, etc.

What we need to see from a manager (either the current one when he had more goodwill or his forthcoming replacement) is timely progress with a minimum of backwards steps paired with a seeming ability to learn from obstacles and mistakes along the way. When this is not what we are seeing, we are in trouble. Sorry for the reductio ad absurdum but it's not a numerical equation that can be solved.

very true. But they do have a very nice new stadium, have a very capable young squad that was assembled with peanuts, play some pretty darn attractive football and won several titles in the last 10 years.
I think most of us would prefer to be in the Arse's shoes with Wenger....no?

I'd much rather have a trophy than a nice stadium or tippy tappy football.

Derby County have a nice stadium.

Arsenal have a larger debt than us. Should they get some cunty owners it can all go to shit. One season your appearing in a CL final, the next your signing Kyrgiakos.

It can all change so quickly.

In recent weeks their midfield has been.................

Kalou---------Lampard----------Mikel-------------Malouda

With some guest appearances by Ballack, J.Cole and Deco.

Compare that with...................................

Robben-----------Lampard-----------------Essien--------------Duff

Their current midfield is not a trophy winning midfield IMO. They miss Essien in particular.

It was:

-----------------------Makalele
Duff---------Lampard----------Tiago--------Robben

I think Essien signed later on after Duff and Tiago had gone?

Yeah, I'm not sure if the midfield I used as my example ever played together but it was just to highlight the strength of previous Chelsea midfields compared to now; Lampard is still good but a fading force, Mikel and Kalou are poor and Malouda is average. Compared to; A young Lampard, fully fit J.Cole, Duff, Robben, Makelele, Essien (fit), etc, their midfield in recent weeks has been alarmingly limited.

you are using the example of the two time champion, with argubly the best squad in the league, who finished in the lowly position of third (their lowest position for years) as an example of a manager gaining instant success and the reason we should do it?

fucking HELL!!

Yeah, the old "I' was only joking" get out clause. We all believe that you were fishing for a bite and that you don't actually think Rafa is a cunt or a wanker. Its not as if every other post you write is loaded with "Rafa's shite" is it.... oh.

Yawn.

bren said SQUAD and essien is part of that squad, as is joe cole, as is ballack, lampard, malouda. its a fantastic squad they are missing key players or have missed key players but they are a few points off the top, when we, however, have missed key players we find ourselves scraping for 4th place.

I wasn't denegrating the quality of their squad just pointing out that their midfield in recent weeks has been less than formidable and this will probably affect their final league position.

Their squad is, along with City, the strongest in the league but it is an ageing squad and the injuries to J.Cole, A.Cole, Essien, Cech and now Carvalho will hand the title to United unless Rooney gets injured or Arsenal develop a backbone.

Truly a brilliant piece of insight saying that Chelsea has a strong midfield and a deep squad.
