Just show him a video of Linda Pizzuti cheering for Liverpool players every week.

We can beat all competition.

She's certainly better on the eye than Hicks were. Things are looking up.

Well done Henry. He must be a nice fella after all.
[/quote]

Indeed. He must be a really nice bloke for her to want to marry him despite a three decade age difference.

Just so we are clear. I said that tongue in cheek.

Not saying he's NOT a nice bloke though...

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Holland midfielder Ibrahim Afellay from PSV Eindhoven in January.

Ibrahim Afellay is the latest creative midfielder to join Barcelona's ranks
The deal was announced on both clubs' websites on Monday evening though a contract is still to be agreed between the Spanish champions and the player, but if all goes to plan then the Holland international will move to the Nou Camp when the January transfer window opens on New Year's Day.

A statement on Barcelona's official website read: "PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona have reached an agreement on a deal to bring Ibrahim Afellay to Barca, subject to successfully settling personal terms between the player and the Catalan club over the coming weeks.

"Until the deal is finally settled, Ibrahim Afellay wishes to concentrate on the upcoming important games for PSV."

The 24-year-old Afellay's contract with PSV was due to expire at the end of the season and it was announced last month that he would not be penning a new deal with the Dutch outfit, with whom he has spent his whole career so far.

Afellay played at the World Cup for his country but only made two substitute appearances as the Dutch reached the final but lost to the countrymen of the club where he will ply his trade from the beginning of 2011.

Barca were always going to lead the pack in trying to sign him.

Their current President, Sandro Rosell, is very good friends with Afellay's agent... who in the past has been prominent in Barca signing Dutch players like Cocu and Reizeger.

Fuck sake.

I really wanted him, but I have to admit, even as a Liverpool fan, I would rather be playing at the Nou Camp right now.

A quick look to see who manages Liverpool and almost any other team is an option. We don't play attractive football and are losing almost as often as we win. Mid table mediocrity is not what players are looking for.

When Roy gets the boot, we may have a sniff at better players!

Good signing for them. Hope for his sake that he will get some playing time aswell, and not be like Mascher.

I can't imagine he'll play regularly. Guardiola certainly hasn't rotated his attacking players that much this season.

Their squad is a little small though, so it's a good signing for them.

We won't attrack many top-talents around untill we'll get someone in the manager-seat they'll want to learn from and play for.

Pepe Guardiola or Roy Hodgson? You don't even have to know what clubs they are representing do you before making your choice?

Afellay was one of our best bets this coming window for a cheap and extremely exciting signing. This is bollocks really.

I don't know where he sees himself playing in this Barca side.

He's very good, but he better get used to the bench. Pity.

Don't know anything about him other than the hundred or so Dutch fans I was with watching the WC final went nuts when he came on... But I was mighty stoned...
