Even though waves are going high these days it seems our illustrious brand is still a rather mesmerizing one for young and talented players around the globe.

Form is temporary class is permanent, and all that jazz.

Young Dutch winger/striker Ibrahim Afellays contract with PSV Eindhoven will come to an end next Summer and by his own words he hopes he can join us (or the Mancs).

According to the quote in English newspaper *** *** his dream is to play for Liverpool or Manchester United, something he describes as beeing the biggest achievement for every player around.

I've only seen this lad a handful of times but I've always liked what I saw. Scored a brace for Holland of late and would be a rather interesting and completely different free-signing than what we've been used too. Quick-feets, skillful and goal-scoring.

Anyone know more of him?

From the little bit I have seen of him he is what we all hoped Babel would be.
Strong, fast, direct and with a good touch.

Hasn't quite achieved what was expected of him.

I'd take him on a bosman though. It's risk free.

Ahh but if you'd only seen a little bit of Babel you might think the same thing.

Haha.. typical reaction from a Swede who's suddenly got access to cheap beer.

Free transfer. Affelay. No brainer.

What the man said. Cracking player - we haven't got anyone even half as good on the wing and a few of you are going Meh ? :🙂

When I saw the title I thought it was about that there Ibrahama -Fella who plays for AC Milan.

Well the difference between us now and hopefully us when we get sold is that maybe we can find the money to just buy this kid and Hazard this winter and introduce some flair and pace into our game.

Is the psv player?

I remember him looking half decent in the cl a few seasons back

Today's article from Spain:

http://www.elmundodeportivo.es/gen/20101105/54065253011/noticia/afellay-opcion-del-barsa-para-enero.html

- Valued at 20-25m euros, available at 2-3m euros due to contract expiry in June 2011
- Barca eyeing him up as Jan signing in view of Xavi's injury issues this season
- Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Arsenal, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich amongst the teams interested
- Barca could have some advantage as his agent, Rob Jansen is an old friend of Sandro Rosell, Barca's chairman
- "coming weeks will be crucial in negotiations"

No doubt that Barca will be interested. For that sum we will be mad for not doing our outmost to sign him.

Just show him a video of Linda Pizzuti cheering for Liverpool players every week.

We can beat all competition.

She's certainly better on the eye than Hicks were. Things are looking up.

Well done Henry. He must be a nice fella after all.
