Liverpool FC have suffered a major blow with the news that Jordon Ibe will be out for up to a month with knee ligament damage.

The 19-year-old winger hurt his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in last Thursday's Europa League exit at the hands of Besiktas in Istanbul. Scans have now confirmed the Reds' worst fears and they expect him to be sidelined for three to four weeks.

It's more of a loss for him than us as luckily Markovic can stand in to good effect, it's gutting for the kid though, the playing time would no doubt have been doing his progression wonders.

Are you kidding? Marko and Ibe don't look on the same planet going forward. And Ibe has been just as good defensively.

As LTW said, Ibe will make Marko or Lallana expendable within a couple years.

Ibe's better than Markovic sure, but it's not a huge difference yet, maybe if he does it for an entire season, not 5 games.

Why? You saw it with Henderson pretty quickly. Only one who never stopped being vocal in support.

Ibe? We've seen him come in from a side where he was started as a first team player at age 15. And go on to tear up the youth ranks for us. He went to Derby and shined. He came back and shined. He's never not been a star. What can you see changing? Look at that frame - he maybe end up being our striker. What else do you really need to know about this kid. He looked good in his debut 2 years ago even. Just enjoy the ride

I dont understand what you're implying I'm saying here, I'm not doubting his ability, quite the opposite, I'm full of praise for him, I'm saying that a kid who's played five premier league games for us can be replaced without hurting the team that much. Markovic hasn't been as good, but the difference isn't Borini to Sturridge, its minimal, and we'll cope fine. It seems to be a recurring theme on this site that as soon as a youngster has a good spell we have to hype him up well above his station, I wish we'd ease it back a notch.

Clearly Mystic hates Ibe as much as I hate Coutinho
