Ian Ayre quizzed by SOS

We wait to see what will actually change, but at least these things are being looked at.

BTW since when did SOS get official recognition as the voice of all Liverpool fans?

I know, I must say I find them unnecessarily pompous these days. Reminds me of Richard Briers in Ever Decreasing Circles, running around with a clipboard shouting at people.

This interview reeks of SOS trying to obtain the 'official' status as the LFC fans mouthpiece by having ties with the club.

'Look at us, we have a channel to the top brass at LFC, wouldn't you want us to be your voice?'

Ian Ayre cancelled the PTS scheme. Now PTS card holders and membership holders have same chance of getting tickets for each game. A PTS card was an excellent way to source a match ticket since you had an option to buy four days before the general sale.

Hahahaha, the one dimensional buffoons comrades.

They sound exactly like what they are (or were to be more precise) a load of left-wing union activists and shop stewards.

Who the fuck do they think they are.

regards

1. Des ANYONE actually have time for these guys?

2. By statistics alone, surely someone on this site must know some members? |Do they really think they are the voice of the fans?

Clearly Ian Ayre does and SoS are the official representatives of the fans. I can't understand the animosity towards them by some posters.

Decent read that. If SOS can set up regular dialogue with the club and get some of the fans views across, then they should be commended.

Just hope they distance themselves from the uber militant shite, which I know is difficult in this city.

A question was raised relating to the sizes of kit being produced and IA indicated that Adidas may be asked to go along the “Nike ID†route where fans could effectively pre-order a bespoke size and design but that this would depend upon appetite and volumes.

I'm obviously being slow, but what's this all about then?

Most of the questions seemed genuinely geared towards helping fans and without any particular agenda, so I don't think there is anything wrong with that interview (in isolation).

The video of them with a big sons of shankly banner behind a stage, with them all doing an official sing along on mic about munich, is absolutely fucking disgusting.

The way they lend a dead mans name to their actions was inappropriate from the off, but doing it then conducting themselves like this is just sickening.

Kinel, who's to say they're in any way associated with SOS?

As far as I know anyone could go to the do.

Who needs enemies with some of our fans, eh...

They are up on a stage, with a son of shankly banner behind them, at an official sos event. It's indefensible, and it makes tends to discredit any supporters trying to get anything legitimate done, including some of the reasonable people who I'm sure are involved with SOS. Personally, it doesn't make anything I'm trying to get done over here any easier either.

It looks bad, yeah. I'm not excusing it, but there's no evidence that they were SOS members. The do was open to anyone and they could have been stragglers off the street. In fact, I hear it was one of the hired band who started it and he's been warned and told to fuck off.

I have my own issues with SOS but they can't be blamed for every fuckwit who attaches themselves to the organisation.

What about all the people in the crowd? I suppose they were all just there for the entertainment? Come on, you are grasping at straws. I'm glad the guy has been told to fuck off, but its a little late.

Edit - seen your edit. I have sympathy with them not being able to control their membership, but they should be able to control what goes on at their events in front of their name, which sadly in this case is Shankly's good name.

I'm not grasping at anything. I prefer to find out the facts before making sweeping generalisations about a whole organisation based on a few idiots.

The crowd might well have joined in but they could well have been non members. Lets face it, it's not like it doesn't get sung away from home, and it could quite feasibly have been that mob who tend to latch onto fan groups like SOS.

Regardless, this will presumably be the last time they attract someone from the club to one of their meetings.

Don't see why. Unless it was one of the commitee. Some people are just desperate to see them fail because of their own prejudices, which is sad really.

They are self appointed representatives of all supporters. That could grate on people, but setting that aside, they should control their image, if its to reflect poorly on everyone else.

Since when?

They don't represent me, they represent their members like any union, and I certainly don't feel threatend by them. You're more than welcome to disagree with everything they stand for and start your own supporter group.

Saying that, it's a disgrace really isn't it and totally indefensible.

SOS aside, we've got these little twats singing about Munich under a banner dedicated to one of Busby's greatest friends in football.

No mark scum.

So that's our basic message, to management, Mr Ayre. We want Brother Sephton only to play gramophone records from the 1960s - omitting, of course, anything by The Applejacks - nothing but Bovril for sale as a refreshment and, um, no ladies allowed in the ground apart from those attending to the tea, biscuits, washing-up and wotnot. Understood?

Bang on!

Perhaps not, but they're going to look guilty just the same.

Exactly , any fuckwit can attach themselves to the organisation, and then purport to speak on my behalf, a season ticket holder for over 35 years, I don't want that.
