Doesn't have to be a hero, as such, it could be anything really. Perhaps someone who created some art of any description that you loved and worshipped, that later proved to be not quite what you thought.
Who let you down, somehow. Severely enough to taint your love of what they did.
I'm not talking about bellends on Twitter who won't read any more Harry Potter because JK Rowling had an opinion. That's different because that is mental illness. But something more profound.
You know, all the stories about Walt Disney being a fierce anti-semite. Or certain authors having dubious opinions. Whatever.
I've sometimes found Clint Eastwood's occasionally rabid Conservatism a little queasy, but it has had no effect whatsoever on my admiration for him and his films.
I can't really think of anything that I have had to reject because of what the creator subsequently thought, said or did, but maybe I haven't given it enough thought.
Anyone have any examples? Or is it easy to separate the creator from the creation?
