Huddersfield Town v Liverpool Match Thread

We did everything right to create situations where a relatively simple ball puts a player through, just like last year.

We won't continue to fuck that pass up indefinitely, is what I choose to believe.

We're very lucky they're shite. I didn't want to jinx anything by saying it during the match but this is one of the sides you'd want after an international break when we've picked up a few injuries yet we struggled.

I hope all the optimistic takes on how we've done so far are correct. "The sign of champions is winning when you're not playing well" etc, I'd rather we played well.

Id rather win than play well.

But as many have said, you can't carry on winning without ever playing well

Was that the worst performance of the season so far? Felt like it.

Thankfully Huddersfield are terrible and couldn't take advantage.

Still, 3 pts and joint top with City so happy for now.

The worry is, of course, that if this continues at some point we're just going to fade away.

We all wish we play well, but that's 7 wins and 2 draws. Best defensive start to a season ever. I'll take this over playing well currently.

We're already 10 goals behind City in goal difference.

That's too much to make up, and it's only October. Playing for second already.

Statistically it will be impossible to duck up that pass as frequently as we did today.

Watched both us and City today.

They're so far ahead of in squad depth and quality.

They can drop Sterling and Walker.. and bring in Mahrez and Sane. KDB came off the bench for them today. As well as Jesus.

We have a really good first 11, who are really good with one style of play (counter attack). Thankfully our defending has got much better this year, otherwise we'd be in some trouble.

It is so frustrating. We cannot pass the ball at all except for the goal. Poor all round.

Pleased with the 3 points tho

But then again they have multiple successes in Europe as well... how many times have they lifted it now. I feel certain they will smash us every time we meet them.

I love winning, but that was shit.
We won't be top four much longer if we keep playing like that.

Hopefully the boys get a kick up the backside

Another poo win. So the best ever start to a season and we're all shitting ourselves because we look like a side that's either going to fall apart or suddenly smash the arse off someone and then get properly rolling.

I'll go with the latter as moaning about it won't change anything, we're top of the league, we've got a couple of games coming up where we'll hopefully batter someone and get some confidence, and City have got to go to Spurs next week so one or both are gonna end up pissed off.

We so wouldnt have got three points with one of our keepers from last season or without vvd in a match like today, scrappy stuff.

Good three points given performance levels

That wasn't great.

On the pluses- that was the kind of lovely crisp finish Salah led us to expect from him last season.

That was a properly changed-up side playing after an international break against a team not flush with international stars, and who had a big stretch to prepare. Recipe for upset that was avoided.

Shaq is proving to be a very shrewd understudy.

We have for the past 20 seasons and more generally failed to win unless we bossed shit. We now are seeming masters of the shit victory.

Though please Liverpool fucking smash a game or two just so we can get strut round the place like we're ring-walking.

Happy with 3 points, but the performance ... ouch.

I don't get why the JoeGo & VvD partnership has been put aside ...

I'm tempted to say we should start Shaq where Ox played last year - we need that.

Lallana is so silky smooth but I'm not sure he can play at this level anymore.

I don't get this either.

Goal difference does not matter Brendan...relax. its too early - there are many games to play. We just need to keep winning playing shit.
