How the mighty have fallen

As I sit here waiting to raise the effort to go and beautify myself for an evening out in the Aisensfield Arms, and while I listen to how the tourists have the advantage in the first test I notice a familiar face trying to sell me double glazing for my lighthouse. The young man with the sales pitch is television's very own Craig Doyle. The popular former presenter of 'Holiday' and various sporting spectacles on the Beeb and ITV has, presumably after following the advice of his cash hungry agent, begun a new career as a double glazing salesman. Although the advertisment carries a very important message about keeping your home well insultated and thus aiding a reduction in your Carbon Footprint I was suprised to see the onetime BBC goldenboy with his new job in sales.

This lead me to think of other celebrities who have fallen victim to a new career in sales. Jack Niklaus' ill fated stint as an Estate Agent pre credit crunch, and Gareth (champion of the England National football team) Southgate's nausiating role of shoe salesmen in the Bull Boys Shoes affair of the mid 1990's spring to mind.

From your memories what are the most bizarre instances of celebrities selling out?

Yours,

C Greengrass Esq.
