Here's my best guess:

Torres 20
Gerrard 15
Kuyt 8
J. Cole 5
N'gog 4
Babel 3
Magic 2
Meireles 2
Jovanovic 2
Maxi 1
Pacheco 1
Agger 1
Everyone else 0

Total: 64 goals, which is more than we scored last season and - based on our form so far - pretty fucking optimistic. But basically, if Gerrard, Torres and Kuyt are out, we have hardly anyone in the squad who can score goals. A wing partnership of Maxi and Jovanovic strikes me as being particularly goal-free.

Anyone think I'm being pessimistic?

Yeah, I'm banking on Gerrard being better than last season, and Torres staying fit for more matches. Wash, I suspect, will score a lot of goals - but only in the Europa League, as his chances are likely to be limited in the PL. Ditto Babel.

Unless we have a run of pens, I just cannot see him scoring 15. Anyone know when he last scored from open play in the prem?
