How long has Fergie got?

I'm not sure who they would realistically go for. If they went for someone internal (who?) that would make it even more difficult for them to move on from fergie

Replacing Slur Alex is the biggest poisoned chalice in world football

Which is why Jose won't

jose would take the job, his ego is bigger than fergie's so he wouldn't be scared of what fergie has achieved in the past.

Not a chance

I can see him replacing his replacement - less pressure.

I hope they get Alex Kid.

I hope they get some random kid.

One word on Wenger - Invincibles.

He built a team who didn't lose a Premiership game all season. That is an unique and remarkable feat. He deserves massive respect for that alone.

Hate to say it but I think Fergie will go for as long as his body and mind allow him. Either that or for some reason results go so badly for united that he decides to step down.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if the powers that be hadn't "had a word" with Bill when he kept turning up at training etc once Bob was in charge.

In his quiet way Paisley was a pretty tough guy. Despite his loyalty to Shanks when the latter was in charge, I'm pretty sure he'd have insisted on being recognised by the players as the new boss and would eventually have said something if the board didn't. It's to the board's credit that they took the job on themselves, and that they acted in good time (in which respect the comparison with their successors doesn't flatter those successors). I'd also lay money that the United experience was instrumental in the board's decision.

he should have been sacked just before the norwich tie.

Which "norwich tie"?
