How good do players need to be?

Seeing that transfer prices being asked for players are at a record level, a club of LFC financial resources must budget even if the transfer budget is £100m (net). Which positions do we spend big on? And which positions should we compromise on and look for potential, decent players (value around £20m or less) and freebies?

But we need more than 2 players, what happens to other positions? if you said let's pay £64m for PEA to beat PSG I would all for it, as to me that's lower risk than spending £50m on Salah as PEA knows Klopp and the German league is the most comparable to the PL.

I would be happy to give RB £120m for Werner, Forsberg and Kieta but it will mean having to compromise on LB and CB

It depends how we spend it. If we get another couple in like Gini and Mane for £25m and £30m, then cool. Van Dijk for £20m more than Sakho (£30m in) seems a good start.

There's a definite sweet spot on appearance too, a sub £20m player just seems lowball in the current market, it's not that there aren't gems for those fees but how often do we turn up a Coutinho?
