Save your sterling on the likes of Silva et al.

Get Hleb instead. I believe he'd come reasonably cheap, wont he ?

But then again, in this chaotic inflated transfer market, amidst such economic turmoil, nothing is a surety anymore.

Hleb can operate anywhere across the line between Torres and the midfield. LW, RW and the hole (cover for Stevie). Proven Premiership class.

Dunno bout you lot, but he impressed me enough during his time with Arse.

He wasn't a huge sucess at Barca, though was he?

That's because it was obvious he was bought as more of a backup squad player than a 1st teamer.

There is no way in the world he'd oust the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Henry and Yaya Toure when all on form.

And unfortunately for him, they all hit form throughout this season.

How many goals did he score in his time in England?

The more important question is how many assists did he make ?

6 and 8 respectively during his last 2 seasons with Arse.

Which is reasonably good for a winger.

And he went there knowing this fact...

He might be a good backup player for us, but I don't think he might be the missing piece in the puzzle.

He'd a good playmaker without being weak and small; he's adverse to shooting though and is a bit of a "tippy-tappy bellend"

I'd be very surprised if we were interested.

He's more a right winger/in the hole player, and those positions are already filled.

Is he not a sulking, moaning cunt who didn't like life in england and had a go at just about everyone at Arsenal after he left?

He doesn't score enough for my liking. He is great on the ball even though he is a bit lightweight.
Barca paid over ten million for him too I think.

Bit of a luxury player really, great on the ball, not particularly quick and doesn't score many goals, and 6 and 8 assists respectively is no better than Kuyt, so really, what's the point? We want someone with the potential to make a vast improvement to our side.

Never rated him. Inconsistant and weak mentally and physically. FM favourite.

It's a good shout Roger - but I think we could see similar goal/assist tallies from Reira. I think we really need to try and focus our money on two top tier players -

His most impressive seasons so far were when he played on the left wing in Stuttgart.

A league where Voronin shines...

He's a better footballer than Riera and Babel, but he's not enough of an improvement for his signing to be worthwhile.

It's also a league of Ribery, Berbatov and Diego. Bundesliga is on a very solid financial footing, they have great infrastructure, devoted fans, and a lot of young playing and coaching talent developing right now. German league is clearly on the rise and in a couple of years they should be Europe's 2nd or 3rd strongest league.

Not a bad player. Class to watch at times, his feet are as quick as anyones in the game but he farts around too much for my liking. No goals and nowhere near enough assists to compensate for the lack of goals.

covers all attacking midfield positions, very good player, prem proven, doesn't score a lot, doesn't get the last pass before someone scores regularly (assists), but his creativity and flair would be a nice alternative to our robotic style. he may not score but he'd start many good moves off. so why not? and because he hasn't done brilliantly at Barca, he won't cost a lot. would be a good buy.

Fucking meh.

I really went off him after he elbowed Murty that time. He's a bit of a cunt.

Also, his celebrations after Barca's CL win were a bit too 'Josemi' for my liking.

Hleb improved greatly during his spell at Arsenal and I thought he was very good indeed in his final season. I would love to see him in a red shirt. 🙂

Wasn't there a rumour going round that Hleb was signed so that he could 'persuade' Fabregas to join Barcelona?

He would be much better than alot of what we already have.

Say's the person who wanted us to spend 10M on Amr Zaki in January.
