12 - Liverpool have hit the woodwork more often than any team this term in the PL & no player has hit it more than S.Downing (3). (11 when Henderson hit it in the first half, 12 when Downing hit the post in the second half.)

Liverpool would be 6 pts behind Man City, rather than 15, if all PL woodwork strikes had been goals.

In all fairness Hendos shot was a class finish and he was very unlucky!
 
Not really important I suppose, but Downing's shot was on target. It was the keeper who put it on to the post.
 
Fulham had 18 shots and we had 20 on monday night.

They hit the target with 58% of their shots, while we hit 40%.
Thats the problem. We create a helluva lot of chances, but our strike rate is worthy of a relegation candidate.

Bad luck or poor finishing. Its a bit of both isnt it, but after so many games with the same outcome that we cant hide from the fact that our finishing this season have been extremely poor.
 
Suarez has had 39 shots in the last 7 games and scored 0. This is the heart of our problem. The rest of the game looks alright but our strikers are rubbish at hitting the target. It's like having going out with a supermodel, she's loads of fun, all your mates think she's great. Unfortunately she tends to vomit when she goes down on you.

I'd pay extra for that ...
 
Hitting the woodwork is fucking hard work. Place the ball at the penalty mark or somewhere, and try to hit woodwork from there. You will fucking miss it 9 out of 10!!! Our guys get far to little credit for their extreme skills!
