Hillsborough: Searching For The Truth

I could have done without him joining the media hue and cry over the Suarez issue. Barrett at least (and one or two non-Reds, like Olly Kay) did point out the holes in the "prosecution" case. Evans never did.

I'll leave it at this cos there's much much more important things to discuss in here, if you want to counter create a separate thread, but I thought he didn't help, true, but he highlighted constantly in his criticism that it would have been handled differently had it been another top club as Kenny was hung out by dry by those above him who didn't act at all or say a thing.

Stand by for Bloody Sunday style apology from PM after reading Hillsborough report but will it focus on role of police or politicians?

I can't even be arsed with what he's got to say, because you know it'll be conceited and protective. He'll either say little and just issue and apology or he'll pinpoint other factors that have 'since been improved'.

It makes you love the city more than ever. I don't think any other community would have made this possible.

This is very true, the manner in which our community comes together over this is staggering at times.

As someone just said on twitter, this sense of community & strength is what the government at the time despised.

It's what they still despise, it's why we've got privatisation and why unions and communities count for next to fuck all.

I'm tempted to reply, but you're right that this isn't the place to do it and it isn't worth a separate thread. Let's leave it there.

For anyone that hasn't seen them before, this is what SYP did to their own officers statements http://pic.twitter.com/QBbCRjG7

I hadn't seen that before. Fucking hell.

It's often untouched upon but some of those young officers there must have been in bits too. Ordered not to help & stand with back turned as people suffered, then practically forced to lie or bad their words censored afterwards.

There's no way all those officers were compliant or wanted to stand with backs turned to the crowd like in so many of the photos.

We all know the good few who never stopped caring and made a difference. The rest did fuck all and should now sit meekly and ponder the report.

My old man slammed the door in Neil Kinnock's face at the Royal Hallamshire. I was still in coma so missed it but apparently my old man told him to 'piss off'. Fuck politicians. Slimy fucks to a man (or woman). Milliband is a cunt. To be fair he always has been, this just exacerbates it.

Police changed or deleted 116 of 164 statements by officers to shift blame on to the fans in an orchestrated cover up!

Cameron states failure to help fans. Failure of ground to hold fans, turnstiles & barriers at fault, also known a problem before.

Police at fault, failures of leadership within police & ambulance service.

Admits orchestrated cover up by organisation.

Names The Lying Rag being at fault & mentions headline.

States police efforts to blame fans & mp helped.

164 amended. 116 police reports removed negative comments by police.

No evidence of government trying to conceal the truth. Blame is going on the police here.

Its going to be terrible what ever comes out and no apologies from the guilty now are worth a bean.

If they are in positions of responsibility, their roles should be questioned.

This whole thread hurts just reading it, i hope todays brings some answers and closure for you all.

I struggled to watch the Documentary the other night without shedding a tear or two. I will never forget the events unfolding on TV, and the constant worry my good friend and his father who attended the game where ok. They both Sat above in the leppings lane end watching the events unfold, pulling people up and helping them to safety..

The way football fans where treated in the 80's was nothing short of barbaric. They where treated like caged animals..

How the FA manage to come through this all these years without taking any responsibility, amazes me..

59 people could have had reversible asphyxia and could possibly have been treated after 3:15 p.m.

And there you have it.
