I was with one of the head dudes at one of those chicken genocide places, he was proudly telling me how many tens of millions of chickens they slaughter every week... well anyways I asked him what the difference between the chickens that go to lidl and waitrose is, and the christmas turkeys etc, and he said absolutely zero. The only possible differential is that Waitrose and M&S guarantee British... but this is how the vast majority of orders are fulfilled. Sometimes at Christmas week it goes mad and they have to murder some in Holland as well, and they don't go to those two. Other than that, not one bit of difference, same farms, same process, same slaughterhouse, same pallets, different packet, different price.
I knew a woman who was head of procurement for Hugo Boss and regularly went to India to visit the factory where the suits were made. The company who made Hugo Boss suits also made Matalan suits using the same cloth, the same personnel just a different cut. Hugo Boss suits are about 6 times the price of Matalan's!I was with one of the head dudes at one of those chicken genocide places, he was proudly telling me how many tens of millions of chickens they slaughter every week... well anyways I asked him what the difference between the chickens that go to lidl and waitrose is, and the christmas turkeys etc, and he said absolutely zero. Cough:wears dresses:CoughThe garment that Mané is wearing looks more Arabic than African. It looks like a dishdasha or jellabia . I have one myself, I wore it a lot on my Nile cruise. It was very comfortable in the heat.

Bex works for Customs now, & she has to go to pretty much every supplier of food to the supermarkets, that's standard that.

I'm also thinking of getting one of those outfits that Portly has, for the summer months here.
Mrs Athens works for a pharmaceutical company that make stuff under license for other companies. They do a nasal spray for boots, Tesco and someone else, perhaps Sainsbury, and it's the exact same batch for each company but obviously in different packaging.
Its not really absolute proof, is it?Just been the guardian piece on the 2 sisters chicken processing factory.
One of the issues coming up is relevant to the comment @HC made about fresh meat. There's footage showing returning portions being opened & mixed in with fresh, & it was returned from lidl yet repackaged as Tesco Willow Farms 'exclusively reared for Tesco'.
The 2sisters company said that all their meat meets the requirement of the Willow Farm brand so can be packaged with that wording.
Absolute proof that it's all the same shit in different packaging, in case anyone didn't realise it by now.
I should really split all this off, but it's hardly like the thread was going anywhere & I really CBA.
The fruit and veg in the lidl here is usually pretty good. Their meat, especially their minced beef isn't the best, it's very pink. Its not really absolute proof, is it?
I defy anyone to prefer lidls bacon, mince or chicken over waitrose. Its not placebo making it infinitely better to cook with !
They do sell some good steak cuts ,howevr
I'm sure I could find one hear. Although they might start to think I've been radicalised...I bought mine in a shopping mall in Muscat, Oman. The shopkeeper had a look up and down outside his premises before he let me try it on.
However I am sure that they must be available in Bradford or Wolverhampton.
I've read that the placebo effect means that more expensive pain killers make people think that they work better, even when they know that the active ingredient is the same. It's dead easy to find out with medicines in the UK, cos they have a PL number on the back that is the same regardless of branding.
Sudafed in the Asda £4.00. Asda decongestant tablets £1.50. Exact same PL number, therefore the exact same product.

I worked at Heinz factory in Wigan. I can assure everyone those beans make their way everywhere. Pay the cheapest, you're getting the same.
At a base level, sure....maybeI worked at Heinz factory in Wigan. I can assure everyone those beans make their way everywhere. Pay the cheapest, you're getting the same.
Yeah, but it doesn't work on everyone. Some people are more susceptible than others.Between generic and brand of the same drug ?
Because tramadol is dirt cheap and works way better than other pain killers.
