Has there ever been a game that you wanted to win more than Sunday's match?

Who the F@#% are Man United?!?!

C'mon you Reds, time to twat those cunts yet again.

I seriously have not wanted to beat the piss out of a squad more than I would like for us to whoop Man Yoo on Sunday...

Uh yeah, I kinda rated Athens a couple years back as a little more important...

... but yeah, LET'S SMASH THOSE FUCKING SMUG CUNTS THIS WEEKEND!

Well of course mate, but you know what I am saying ha.

Question though, since 90% of United fans are from London 'nowadays will they even bother to travel to Liverpool or will they stay home and go to the NFL game at Wembley 8)

I want us to win quite badly, though I'm not sure it ranks that high amongst all time games, but its that hope rather than expectation thing. I fear Torres will get quite lonely.

Ha, yes, so true.

If we lose, I fear the Internet will crash.

Ha !

I have a feeling we will win but lose away to Fulham.
Also, Arsenal are going to knock us out of the CC.
It's going to get worse before ti gets better.

Arsenal at home in 1989 would have been quite nice too

I'd have been happy with a draw in that game. Or a 1-0 defeat!

I think the match I most wanted us to win in recent times is the 2005 CL semi-final against newly rich Chelski. It wasn't just important for us as a club; it seemed symbolic in a bigger way too, especially with them tempting Gerrard to leave us.

I always want us to beat United. Don't have a good feeling about this game, but then I didn't have a good feeling about last season's match at Anfield either.

Me too

Any proper cup final will come above any league game, especially in recent times but yeah I do particularly want us to win this one.

Things are looking so shit that we need something and not much bigger boost than beating United, especially with Michael Owen there.

Sadly I'm not that confident.

It's an absolute must win evidently.

Not in terms of points really, we could lose or draw and still go on to win the Premiership title come May, but we'd be in a right mess mentally, and this could indeed harm our chances in the following games.

Even though recent performances has been awful in terms of quality play, they have however been rather spirited. The lads fought their hardest against Lyon, and were rather unfortunate to lose really.

The United-games are often won on hard fight and sheer spirit alone rather than polished play, so this newfound will to turn the ship could actually turn into our favour. I reckon we somehow want the win more come Sunday.

Both manager, players and fans.

Yes, they don't get much bigger than that game. The 1986 Cup Final v Everton was on a par with that.

I hate these fixtures. The anticipation builds and builds and by the time the game kicks off I feel sick and don't want to watch it.
Last year's 4-1 battering was the first time I ever recall being able to relax before the 90 (or 97 minutes as the case may be) were up against United.

To answer the question, yes there are other games I've wanted to win more. But as the_khl said there is far more riding on this one than three points and two fingers to Fergie.
I just hope we keep our heads, we don't need Mascher going postal in this one.

It depends.

I sorta get the feeling that although i'll say yes now, i'll change my mind ten minutes later.

[/quote]to be honest i can only see us winning this one because of the reasons you've stated, the pressure builds then it has to release. We don't do easy any more didn't ya know. 5 deafeats in a row (never) or 4 points behind.Enjoy Fluff.

History is on our side here folks.... the year we won the champs league how fucked were we then? Gerrard on his way etc etc...

Last season a series of shitty draws left us cut off and next up was Chelsea away.....

This year catastrophic shitness and injuries and bad luck..... United...

I reckon we are just about shit enough to be very very dangerous opponents for them Manc cunts on sunday.

Just realised I'm not gonna be able to see the game. Will be very strange. The last United match I missed was when Mascher got sent off and we lost 3-0 at OT. Hopefully that's not an omen...

Agree 100% - and doing it again was perfect to confirm it wasn't a fluke.

Before that it was the cup final against Everton.

Manc games are always huge and this one was no different but for being bigger than the 3 points or the actual result itself that tie against Chelsea was huge.
